Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic – Aug 14-22

The Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic is coming up next weekend, I posted this on the message boards but wanted to share on the blog as well some brief information on all the various events that will be going on. All the events benefit the V Foundation and 100 percent of all direct donations and net proceeds go directly to cancer research.

Racquets For Research – Sat Aug 14 – Raleigh Racquet Club
Get hands on instruction from tennis pros and play other doubles teams of equal ability. Cost per doubles team is $200, which includes an event t-shirt, breakfast, lunch, and a gift bag for each participant.

Reverse Raffle – Wed Aug 18 – Raleigh Convention Center
1000 raffle tickets are sold for $100 each and the last ticketholder will drive away in a brand new BMW. Prizes will also be awarded to approximately every 10th ticket. Ticket holders will also enjoy heavy hors d’ourvres and a cash bar.

ESPN’s Pre-V – Thurs & Fri Aug 19-20 – Pinehurst
Dinner on Thursday night at the Pinehurst Resort and on Friday play Pinehurst No. 8 in a Ryder Cup format. – $2,000 Individual Player Sponsor


Jimmy V Cruise to Key West Party – Fri Aug 20 – Raleigh Convention Center

Key West themed party with food, music, casino games and silent auction. $250 per person—Individual Sponsor, $2,000 Reserved Table Sponsor


V Foundation Public Cancer Forum – Sat Aug 21 – Raleigh Convention Center

Presentations by researchers and Q&A panel discussion – Free and open to the public

V Gala For Cancer Research – Sat Aug 21 – Raleigh Convention Center
Black tie event with dinner, auctions and entertainment- $250 per person—Individual Sponsor, $2,000 Reserved Table Sponsor

Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic – Sun Aug 22 – Lonnie Poole Golf Course at Centennial Campus
Tickets are $5, see the celebs play golf and get autographs and pictures. The list of celebrities can always change at the last minute, but the current list of those with NCSU ties are Tommy Burleson, Lorenzo Charles, Walt Densmore, Terry Gannon, Kellie Harper, Sidney Lowe, Rodney Monroe, Ernie Myers and Chuck Nevitt.
