We never seem to take advantage of opportunities to extend leads… or cut into leads for that matter. If we can keep it close and hopefully let them out stink us on the give and take… we have a chance. If it’s a game of runs, consider us in big trouble.

Also, our guys down low get literally no calls. Does Hansbrah have a little brother?

Look at the top and see Folwer’s quote… hilarious.

We have no answer for Landesburg (SL). Even Josh Davis cannot stay in front of him so he’s creating havoc against our defense b/c we are helping from everywhere. Our plan is to make the other guys beat us which I thought was the right idea going in, but SL is creating wide open shots for UVA. If someone could stay in front of SL, then we could completely shut down UVA’s offense. I cannot wait to see NCSU have a player that can cause problems like that.

Need to put up 40 points in the second half…28 pts is pitiful.

I agree that Landesburg is creating open shots for his teammates. UVA had 2 or 3 from long range that barely rimmed out. We need to limit those open looks, and control the boards. Too many second chances.

Smith and Howell are doing well in the paint. Virginia is not doing particularly well from beyond the arc too. If our guys down low can continue to get rebounds and shoot like they have I feel good about our chances to close this one out.

I think this game will certainly come down to halftime adjustments.

This is the same problem we had against UNC. We are getting great looks and no one on the team can make a jump shot. UVA’s going to pile into the lane and force us to turn it over, take a shot against a double team or make a jump shot.

We have made ONE jump shot. Scott Wood cannot play this poorly.

Missed opportunities… UVa’s shot will start to fall and we’ll be stuck at the same damn number.

Nice block by Degand. Then Javi misses a wide open three in transition. UVA gets the board and gets an open look to take the lead. We need to pick it up. Need somebody other than Smith to be a scoring option.

“We are getting great looks and no one on the team can make a jump shot”

We get “great shots” because U?VA knows we cannot shoot so they double down and make us hit from the outside.

    …and begin

  12. Wulfpack 02/03/2010 at 8:03 PM #

    Scoring drought…

  13. ncsufan13 02/03/2010 at 8:04 PM #

Can one of the 20,000 members of the Wolfpack club buy Scott Wood an undershirt?

  14. Barman 02/03/2010 at 8:06 PM #

definite scoring drought, we were up 26-19. a hour later its 36-32

  15. MA Wolfpack 02/03/2010 at 8:07 PM #

Wow, I feel for Sidney. He has put together a perfect game plan and there is not a single person on his team that can make a jumper. Javy made our only one and he just missed 2 in a row. You cannot win if you cannot shoot b/c it’s pretty easy to take away shots 10 ft and in.

i don’t think that Virgina has more talent than us, but they have so much more guard talent then us. we are so much better off than the year Grant was handling the ball, but still just not quite enough to beat people consistently. we will finish in the top 6 of the ACC next year when harrow and brown are here and if smith and howell are healthy

  17. GAWolf 02/03/2010 at 8:08 PM #

    Giving up offensive rebounds… can’t hit a shot… 5 minute scoring drought.

    Is TODAY groundhog day?

Truthfully… kudos to the staff for the gameplan to slow down Landesburg. I can honestly say unless something awful happens at the end, this one isn’t on the staff… except for the fact we don’t a guy who can shoot on the whole team. Again… Groundhog day… all over again.

  18. Wulfpack 02/03/2010 at 8:08 PM #

    Dreadful…

  19. GAWolf 02/03/2010 at 8:08 PM #

We GET NO DAMNED FOULS. JEBUS.

  20. JeremyH 02/03/2010 at 8:08 PM #

Javy is way too streaky from three to be something we can count on.

  21. GAWolf 02/03/2010 at 8:09 PM #

And then a makeup call… but hey Zeeb… we don’t get two free throws for that one so don’t even think it’s a wash.

  22. JeremyH 02/03/2010 at 8:09 PM #

36 32 virginia with 10:57, I have no confidence we can win this.

  23. Wulfpack 02/03/2010 at 8:09 PM #

    Inexcusable.

  24. GAWolf 02/03/2010 at 8:10 PM #

These refs, like most from the ACC, are horrible. Both ways. They call what they shouldn’t and miss what they should… with consistency.

I think the scouting report on us is a short Word document that has been circulated, and seems to work pretty good on us.
