    BJD, They obviously must be texting Brandon Costner or something while Sid’s not looking. Getting that bad influence. No worries though, we can throw everybody under the bus once this disaster of a season is over and make sure they leave early to make room for the next round of chumps.

    Tony Bennett would have us in first place. Seriously. Our roster is at least as talented as UVa’s.

    Yes, i agree,Sidney Lowe should “do the right thing”, at season’s end, he should resign! I mean, he helped state win the NCAA title and saved Lee Folwer’s neck when no one would take the job, just do it Sid, take one for the team, resign at season’s end so the university can find themselves a coach, like Tony Bennett and not the singer loll!
    How low can we go? 2-14?

    So many ncaa team’s make a simple coaching change and are successfull right away: Virgina, West Virgina, Clemson,Michigan, etc, if the adminstration will not do anything, then sidney lowe needs to do the right thing as well, resign, for the good of the athletic program,if things are not turned around at season’s end.

    I think the problem that coach has is he stops our flow with some of his player rotations. I would not mind Javi’s 6 turnovers a game thats who he is . I say that because when he is let play he gives us that bounce , and others get in the groove. Mays should play the roll of low turnover ,time controlling ,so Javi can rest PG. I know coach is a real rule orientated guy, but some times you have to bite the bullet to get off 3 or 4 of your own. I don’t think Coach has bad game plans at all I just think he needs to let guys make some mistakes and then let them know it happens ,and to keep getting at it not allways bench a guy right away ,you know instill confidence . The one thing i don’t like about Lowe is a statement he made one time that his players should already be up for the game or challenge (something like that) that he should’nt have to tell them to step up . I would like to see him change that mindset as it could go a long way to encourage our 18- 22 year old young men as it seems as if they need some support. Any way. I know it sucks to lose and at this point it seems all is lost but i think Lowe does have some good to offer ,and i also think with the guard talent comming in to match our inside game we should know for sure next season what His system can really do. I hope thats win the games that our gaurds didn’t show up for this year. Will see and hey its only basketball don’t get to hype ,on to G Tech should be intresting to see how Howell and Smith bang with those two.

    javi, even though he has gotten better since he came in, still sucks. after three years. i can coach a pg to a better degree than this. we are terrible at guard 1,2,3… all of them. no output. potential, YES. results, NO.

    another thing, i’m all about tracy smith. but he is not the type of player that will take over a game. he is an above avg forward. he has te skills. but he doesn’t have the extra dimension to his game. quit all this inside game talk. we suck on the boards. that should be enough to end that convo..

    Ok…long time reader…first time adding my two cents. I’m not going to say whether I think this team is better, or even if this team is better than Sid’s teams in the past. But……..with the recruiting class Sid has coming in, he is not getting fired. We can hang that thought up. And does any of us realllllly want Jed Clampett picking a new coach anyway?

    We suck everywhere! loll, But i agree about the coaching aspect, “if players do not realize what a rivalry game is that he maybe can swallow his pride and perhaps teach and show them what that is! A coach at the college professor, in athletics, teaching, leading, learning and listening!! and undestanding that these are truly kids!! Good bright, young guns that need guidance and care, a father figure, kick them in the tail but love them when they do good and be for them when they need it and have some sympthay!
    But if Lowe constantly yells at them and jerks them out over a rule violation, what the heck is the message he is sending? Ego? I mean in four years, has he ever taken credit for a loss?!! This was his loss, he did not have this team prepared and he has some good players! As far a recruiting,
    state being a acc school does more for recruiting with its history and prestiage, heck if even vtech offered me a b-ball scholaship i would go play! Either Sid turns it around this year or he should resign or the university should make a change. Waiting for guards to come is in sad!
    How is he going to coach them? Ryan H?
    bobby knight may have yelled at his players, but he loves them and did all he could for them and never was on probation and his kids did graduate and made them better in the long run. This is more then just winning, Sidney Lowe is a cling to the past, he has no concept of the present or relationships with current kids!

    Howell needs to start. Horner needs to back him up and come off the bench to add some energy and hit some threes. Wood needs to drive the ball if the three’s not dropping. There was one point where they had a lead and had 4 goes at it and couldn’t score. D wasn’t bad they just couldn’t hit dick.

    on more than one occasion, shot clock was under ten with no options and uva drains a lucky three. despite sucking, we can’t even get lucky

    Do the people presently in charge at State – and who knows who they are these days – know that they have lost an entire generation of North Carolinians, now going on two generations? And we’ve lost the whole country as far as any nationa relevance.

    Do they know? Do they care?

    Our basketball team is a circus and Sidney Lowe is the ring leader. How about that shot off the side of the backboard by Javi and that shot that was put into the rafters and supports by Mays?

    My wife and I were at the game tonight eight rows back from the court so we had a pretty good view. A few observations in no particular order:

    1. Still can’t figure out Sids subsitution patterns. Haven’t we seen that we can’t score with Javi and Farnold on the bench at the same time.
    2. We lack heart. Virginia played a lack luster first half but came out fired up – we came out flat – again.
    3. Penalties were pretty balanced. It got very physical under the basket and the refs let them play.
    4. Tracy is a beast down low but doesn’t get enough help.
    5. I can count on one hand the number of drives to the basket or moves to the basket w/o the ball (Degand had a couple and so did Howell).
    6. The JPJ was very quiet for the most part and only about 80% full, not very intimedating at all.
    7. Nobody looked like they wanted to shoot an open shot.
    8. We make the weave and heave look like an active offensive strategy. At least the weave part implies movement. We have 4 guys standing around the perimeter and Tracy under the basket.
    9. I’m sick of watching our guards walk the ball up the court, pass the ball around for 20 seconds, then take a crappy shot.
    10. Our players look like they are just going through the motions. Even when we were ahead, I saw no passion on the floor. This was another winable game – just doesn’t look like we care.
    11. It’s clear to me that our coach can’t motivate his team or has successfully managed to de-motivate them. Maybe that’s why no floor leader has emerged.
    12. Hope Javi is ok for next game. He looked like he was in a lot of pain when a UVA player stepped on his foot while he driving down court.

    Sorry if all this has been stated above but I haven’t had time to review all the comments yet.

    My coach said you don’t wait for luck you make luck,but what would he know he only won 261-66 games as a coach-we are lacking something on this team PG,LEADER,COACH?
