Tune In, Turn On, Drop Out

The above is, of course, a famous quote by Dr. Timothy Leary. Leary was a 1960s counter-culture icon who promoted the use of LSD as somthing positive for mind and spirit.

No, I’m not suggesting that you use drugs to numb yourself to the continued futility of all things regarding NC State (especially its embarrassingly incompetent athletics department). In fact, quite the opposite. I encourage you to break the hallucinogenic chains of enabling idiocy while hoping for the best. NC State’s athletics department doesn’t deserve one more dime from any of us. Not in Wolfpack Club donations, ticket sales, LTR fees, parking or concessions revenue. Nothing.

Will that change anything? Probably not. Will you be able to stop caring and watching completely? Probably not. But at least you won’t have to suffer the disgrace of enabling this freaking nonsense.

I will lead by example. I will continue my automatic monthly payments through the end of December. After that, they can kiss my ass.

If you understood the depth of the effort to oust Fowler this spring and the extreme measures taken by one particularly powerful individual to stop it…

The forces of good have fought very hard. We’re not able to win. We are able to STOP ENABLING.

That is flabbergasting to me. Why would anyone stand up for that idiot?

The big dogs have who they want at NCSU and look at the result. Let them have it. I am done.

From what direction was the depth of the effort to remove Fowler coming from? Was it a minority block of the BOT? A block of medium-big dog donors that don’t quite have the power base as Fowlers magical bulletproof benefactor? From the previous chancellor’s org? All of the above? I realize how important the benefactor and his checkbook is to the ADept, but I’m having trouble with understanding how he alone could block an ouster that had gained the momentum it appeared to have. Did the benefactor threaten to stop giving?

I did NOT see anything to make me feel like this blog is pertinent…so I, too, shall rant….

I am of the “Valvano” curse. I don’t know if we should name the court…I agree that Case and Sloan were great coaches….and each contributed. But Jimmy V. put NCSU on the map, so to speak. He was also the visionary who dreamed of the RBC Center. That, in itself, deserves SOME sort of special recognition. I would be ONE of the FIRST to pony up for a statue or some type of RECOGNITION of Jimmy V.

Next….I would INCREASE my donation if Jed was NO LONGER THERE….but I am not worrying about writing the check…..I don’t know what it will take to rid ourselves of him….Has anyone got any photos of him in compromising positions with anybody or anything?

I’ll also bet that Jim Rutherford would kick in some BIG $$’s to make Jimmy V’s spirit happy. The Canes have seen their share of misery…and I truly believe that there is a little “Bermuda” Triangle in west Raleigh.

I do have a BS from NCSU and was a successful executive before I decided to retire. There is SOMETHING amiss…and I don’t think that $$’s will solve it.

TOB needs a little relief. It is a poor showing when the WPSN has to DISCONTINUE Live calls because of some idiot(s) outbursts.

We need to figure this out…maybe storming the BOT would help. Anyone got a website we can use?
