ACC Basketball Schedule+

Don’t look now…but the 2009-2010 basketball season is just around the corner.

Thought that you may be interested in an updated release from the conference office that highlights the entire schedule. (Link)

ACC Basketball by the Numbers:

179 – ACC teams are scheduled to make an all-time high 179 appearances on national television networks, including 136 appearances on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU, 34 on Fox Sports Net, nine on CBS.

92 – Ninety-two of the league’s 96 conference games (96%) are scheduled to be televised. Boston College hosts Miami in the season’s first league game on Dec. 5.

19 – Fox Sports Net and affiliates will televise 19 Sunday afternoon and evening games on a national basis, starting with North Carolina hosting Nevada on November 29. This season, 15 of the 19 FSN Sunday games are conference match-ups.

Additionally, CollegeHoopsnet.com has taken an interesting approach to projecting the season – you can click here to see their “High / Low” for the entire conference.

You can see below how the Wolfpack is positioned as we head into Coach Sidney Lowe’s fourth season.

Of the 4 games not televised we are one of them.
VT and Miami have two games not televised and UVa has one.

the 2009-2010 basketball season is just around the corner.

You just had to share this piece of good news on Monday morning, didn’t you? 😉

I thought we had 2 untelevised conference games. Very glad if it’s only one (which I guess makes me a masochist).

This year’s basketball season is like a medical test. You know there are only 2 outcomes: horrible news and “hey, you’re not going to die/need surgery/medicine”

  5. CaptainCraptacular 10/05/2009 at 12:21 PM #

And either is preceeded by a kindly visit from Dr JellyFinger, meaning things are already bad when you get news slice #2

Thinking about basketball makes me a sad panda.

  7. kyjelly 10/05/2009 at 12:40 PM #

I was actually trying not to think about this just yet.

    Don’t look now …

That’s my exact plan for Bball this year!

  9. choppack1 10/05/2009 at 1:07 PM #

Yes Captain – the prostate exam is the perfect example of what I expect b’ball to be like.

    1) It’s going to be painful, but at least that’s the end of it for a while.
    2) The pain and violation has only just begun.

Oh gee I thought at least we would have a great football year. What will be our excuses this year? Sid needs __more years,he is just learning? Brandon,Ben and Coutney still are holding everyone back!He is one of us ,unless we are playing St Pauls? Sid needs a point guard?
    I can’t wait!!

    BJD,
I just did a quick perusal and saw 4 games that said “theacc.com”. I assume those are the non-televised.
    I could easily be wrong.
Either way it puts us in sad company.

    “Don’t look now …”

Maybe little head jed should sell t shirts that say that.

At least we won’t have to complain about Costner and Fells:)

Could be an interesting year . I’ve found it somewhat intriguing in observing talent develop, although it’s been painful around here the last . . . 15 years. Did enjoy seeing Smith, Mays, and Javi develop confidence last year. I am looking forward to see what Painter, Woods, and Howell bring to the court as well as to see what additional game CJ and Dennis may have, if any, over last year. Also will be interesting to see if we play a faster tempo this year.

I think we finish higher than 11th, just from the standpoint our guards have some experience and we lost two human turnover machines.

I feel a lot more positve about this year than I did last year at this time.

  14. choppack1 10/05/2009 at 2:20 PM #

primacy – I think it will be interesting if for no other reason than we’ll know exactly where we stand.

I did see some signs of improvement from the staff last year. Unfortunately, the Brown fiasco and our finish helped me lose a little bit of the feel good vibes, but we’ll see what this year brings.

“Yes Captain – the prostate exam is the perfect example of what I expect b’ball to be like.”

Brilliant…we should work with the V foundation to promote prostate exam’s and prostate cancer awareness on October 15th every year…or the first home game every year…

    Looks like we’re overrated again.

  17. bradleyb123 10/05/2009 at 3:40 PM #

We’re gonna rule. Sid finally has all his own players.

    You heard it here first!

  18. packplantpath 10/05/2009 at 4:30 PM #

I guess the lack of comments on this post sufficiently explains most of our feelings on basketball season…..

  19. El Scrotcho 10/05/2009 at 5:38 PM #

Didn’t watch a game last year, and I’m not going to this year. I just don’t hate myself enough to do it.

    Best of luck!

  20. bradleyb123 10/05/2009 at 6:52 PM #

I’ll watch. This is the foundation for the team for the next four years. All we need is a PG, and we may have one between Javi & Mays. And we have Harrow coming in next year if they don’t pan out.

How anyone can call themselves a State fan, but come out and say they refuse to even watch our basketball games, is beyond me. Especially when we have no idea what we have yet.

  21. Wulfpack 10/05/2009 at 7:27 PM #

We’ve sucked for a long time. I don’t see any reason why that won’t continue for yet another. But there’s always next year. Keep telling yourself enough times and you might even begin to believe it.

  22. packplantpath 10/05/2009 at 7:45 PM #

“This is the foundation for the team for the next four years.”

Yea, that’s pretty much what I’m afraid of…

  23. old13 10/05/2009 at 7:47 PM #

    In short . . . WHO CARES!

  24. highstick 10/05/2009 at 9:51 PM #

Do we have to play this year?

Wolfpack Basketball 1993-2010: CATCH THE APATHY!!!

(And for reference, the last time I considered our program truly FUN to watch was the year Gugs graduated. How sad is that?)
