Steve Spurrier Head ShotThursday, Sept. 3
South Carolina @ N.C. State, 7:00 pm on ESPN

Saturday, Sept. 12
Murray State @ N.C. State, 6:00 pm

Saturday, Sept. 19
Gardner-Webb @ N.C. State, 6:00 pm

For more related to this topic you should click here for an interesting entry regarding some related items of the Wolfpack’s schedule.

Additionally, the ACC has announced more early season televsion and gametimes of which you may be interested. (Click here)

Virginia Tech then meets Alabama on Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta in the 2009 Chick-fil-A National Kickoff Game, which will be nationally-televised on ABC at 8 p.m., followed by Maryland traveling to California for a 10 pm late-night national exposure on ESPN2. FSU then hosts Miami in the Labor Day Monday night (Sept. 7, 8 pm) contest from Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee. Later that week, Clemson travels to Georgia Tech on Thursday, Sept. 10, for a key conference matchup between the two long-time rivals that will be televised nationally by ESPN

I am particularly interested in the announcement of the Wolfpack’s September 26th hosting of the Pitt Panthers. If State can get by USC in the first week of the season that ACC-Big East clash could attract a lot of national attention. It would very nice to get to experience something like a 5:30 ESPN2 kickoff or at least a 3:30pm ABC-TV kickoff. I would hate for that game to fall all the way to Raycom’s noon slot.

You mean people won’t have to start tailgating at 8am? Nice.

Please wake me on Sept 2nd. I need to buy my minibottles and get my cooler packed.

Also, if Alfy Hill, Fra’shad Hunter, Tony Creecy, or Peter Thomas commit, go ahead and wake me. I’m still riding high on the Crisp/Singler and might need to nap until the next big moment. Or the QB camp.

Maybe some of you oldtimers here can let the young pups know how to party without going to a C-F parking lot at 8am. I’d do it but I was too drunk to remember. 😉 Just kidding. I am so damn glad we didn’t have that effing KGM mentality when I was in school.

After September I really don’t care… but I don’t think any college football game (well, in the south anyway) in Aug/Sept should start before 6 or 7pm. The safety of the players (and fans) comes first.

This was done right. Now I’ll have a stroke. 🙂

I would rather have appendiges cut off than have to watch my team play the 5:30 slot on ESPN2. Aren’t they the network with chick announcers? That aint national exposure unless you are Toledo or North Texas.

I’m not talking about national exposure. I’m talking from the selfish perspective of wantint an evening game and all day to tailgate.

Truer words have never been spoken. There is no good reason whatsoever to have games in the south start before the evening until Septemeber is over. However, welcome to the way the NCAA does things – they are all about little things they can nitpick in the arena of safety, but you’ll have your aluminum bats and noon kickoffs in Tallahassee FL.
