We have already discussed NC State’s spring game in this entry from April. But, in the event that you have more to add or hadn’t seen the following footage from ‘genefoto’ we thought this would be a fine time to share.

    Unfortunately a shot of the entrance of Foulup, slithering into the empty score board end zone seating with his two security guards in tow, was not included in the video. How could he miss such an opportunity to get his mug in front of a camera!

    Love the Mighty Bosstones “never had to knock on wood” by the pep band during warm-ups. Quite ironical (sic) considering our injury woes the last couple of seasons.

    Since I was a kid, I’ve always loved to watch the team warm-up. There’s always 1-2 players you can ‘see’ who have an extra pep in their step on game-day–a game-day ‘glow’ that just tells you they’re going to have a break out performance. You can see it in their body language and confidence endued.

    Our tailgating party of 16 got there late and dribbled in last-minute–in no hurry to get inside for the warmups or start of the scrimmage.

    Which meant sitting on the top row of the upper deck with no roster, not able to hear the tin-foil voice across the scoreboard… trying to remember who was who.

    I’ve never understood people who drive hours to go to the game who… are in no hurry to get inside and watch the game. Leaving early when things are going woefully wrong, I understand. GETTING to a game and then staying outside in the parking lot… beyond my comprehension.

    Anyway. Thanks for a glimpse of what would have been nice to see.

    Same here. I like watching the warmups as well. I also like watching BP at a baseball game.

    A lot of times, I’ll wear my iPod and turn the music up loud enough to drown everything else at and just watch. Puts me in a good zone for the start of the game.

    I left in the middle of the fourth quarter because I had just played 18 holes of tournament golf, was somewhat dehydrated from that and was also sunburned already.

    People can have good reasons to do things that don’t make sense to others.

    Alpha, I read that on another thread or on PP, I can’t remember. So I really don’t know first hand. But it sounds appropriate to me.

    Who was that in the white t-shirt talking about graduating… was that Mario? If so, congratulations to him for finishing his degree. He said something about mom being proud… great for him. I’ve always heard nothing but nice things about the guy, and it’s super that he’s proven all of his naysayers wrong regarding his position in the draft.

    pregame warmups are such an essential part of my gameday experience. there have been a handful of occasions when I was in the party of others, and we were late getting into the lots. missed pregame warmups, it ruined the entire afternoon. i HAVE to be in my seat 1 hour before kickoff.

    when I grew up in Clemson, I had a ritual where I was the first person in the stands 2 1/2 hours before kickoff, would go down to the west end zone to watch the buses arrive, and would high five the players as they funneled into the locker room for taping and dressing.

    Speaking of Clemson and warmups…do you remember a punter they had named Dale Hatcher? Played for the Rams for a few years.

    I remember watching him warmup at C-F iiin…maybe 1983. His punts would top the stadium everytime during the pre-game.

    Amazing leg.

    Heard a bit of Taylor Zarzour’s (sp?) ‘ACC’ program last night…NICE shout out to the Wolfpack at the end of the show (probably a shameless kiss-up to TOB, who was a featured guest earlier in the show, but, hey, I’ll take it).

    Zarzour predicts 7-5 for the Pack next year (losses = USC, FSU, WFU, VT, MD, I think); he admits that the caveat here is Russell Wilson’s health, as his style of play CAN (not necessarily DOES) lead to time missed due to injury.

    Now, here’s the cool part – Zarzour predicts that if RW can make it through the season relatively injury free (and at least maintain last year’s level of play), State will play for the ACC championship. He reiterated that he belives 7-5 to be the FLOOR for this team and that O’Brien really has something special brewing in Raleigh.

    Of course we already know this, right? It was just nice to hear it from an objective source for a change. For the record, I am a bit biased here, as I do enjoy his (Zarzaour’s) show. In the past, he’s made mention that, of all the schools in NC, NC State has the most loyal and passionate fan base, and is the fanbase he’d most like to see achieve a higher profile in football. Considering he’s an SEC guy (Alabama, I believe), I like the fact that the ‘base has been impressive to him, although I am not at all surprised by the fact that we stand out, compared to some of the other ‘locals’.

    I think we’ll be better than 7-5. I don’t believe Wilson being out will be the killer it was last year.

    noah, I remember Dale Hatcher quite well. Was once a car salesmen in Myrtle Beach after retiring from football.
