US House of Reps: Your tax dollars at work

You’ve got to watch this just to remind yourself the quality of intellect that can get elected in this country…and to learn that the University of Florida football team shows off ‘teen spirit’ (about 40 seconds in). I am sure Kurt Cobain is proud. Hat tip to the Wiz.

    “Go Gator!”

I did not know Urban Meyeress had changed his name.

In all fairness, it’s easy to poke fun at this … I would probably make just as many slip-ups in front of the mic.

That said, my brain does hurt now … great, great usage of government time.

That is awful, especially considering the woman holds a masters in education and according to Wikipedia(disclaimers apply) received a communications/speech degree from some small college. If I were her I would ask for my money back.

Yes Urban Meyeress is a wonderful o-ffesive coach…

    Help us, help us all…

Remember folks, we have the government we deserve. If you want to know what America is really like just drive down to your local DMV office and check out the people there. It ain’t a pretty site.

P.S. Why do they have to count up to five and only then don’t take any jive?

After reading a bit about this lady, she seems to exemplify in all the worst ways the self-serving image of many politicians. . . She obviously never took a course in ethics. . . She should feel right at home in Washington.

Fortunately, there is another fan in Florida that’s willing to make up for this:

My lord that is sad, sad, sad… She needs to borrow Obama’s teleprompter. I think her’s has a few glitches.
I was especially glad to hear Florida is the number one academic school too. Wow I never knew that.
Yur guv’ment at work. I feel a lot better about the bailouts now…

If you carve out a slice of the “pie” that is our society – you’re going to see all manner of abilities in that slice – smart folks, dumb folks, rich, poor, etc. I’ve never understood why we somehow expect Congress to not reflect who we are. The fact is, there’s 435 House members – you’re going to have some folks that aren’t as bright as others.

That video was so bad, that I almost felt sorry for her. Really, such a result is the effect of poor staff work. If your boss doesn’t know sports – and isn’t particularly good at reading aloud – then you don’t let her get up and read stuff she doesn’t know. Duh.

I don’t know if anyone watched the inauguration of Governor Perdue, but former US Rep. Eva Clayton was just as bad with the reading. She screwed up SO many basic things including renaming the Governor to “Everly” and calling Andy Griffith, “Griffin.”

bless her heart, she’s just so full of team pride.

    LOL!

    LMAO!

I can’t believe any of you listened to all of that. Too painful to hear the English(?) language mangled like that. I stopped the playback after 10 seconds. It’s not funny, it’s sad.

BTW, do those choir robes come in red?

  19. harrisek 03/24/2009 at 5:28 PM #

Can we get equal time in congress?

  20. EverettBeez 03/24/2009 at 6:30 PM #

not to be tacky, but is that her hair or is that a weave?

Luckily for Florida… Tebow can perform under pressure. Not so much for the speaker.

If any of you want to fly down to see the Gators play, Delta are ready when you is.

I’m mostly disgusted by the fact that Congress spent three and a half minutes on this tripe when there’s so much else to worry about.
