Tributes to Kay Yow

Updated: 850 The Buzz has posted a series of Yow remembrances

Right Angles announces the following:

NC State womens basketball coach Kay Yow had many, many friends and admirers. Today on NewsTalk 680 WPTF, you’ll hear from them — including UNC womens basketball coach Sylvia Hatchell and longtime colleague and ACC associate commissioner Nora Lynn Finch — in A Tribute to Kay Yow. And of course, you’ll hear from the coach herself, discussing her career, her illness, and her faith.

The tribute airs Sunday at 1 & 7 p.m. You can hear it at 680 AM, or online at Click on Listen Live.

For those who didn’t know about the 1 p.m., I’m sorry for this late announcement; I was in church.

Wow, I am impressed the UNC women are wearing pink in their game tonight at Maryland for Coach Yow. Very classy UNC. It is amazing to see how she connected to so many people. She is in heaven enjoying a reunion with Jimmy V.

99.9 The Fan will be airing a tribute tonight (Monday) at 7pm in lieu of Coach Lowe’s show. Not sure if this is a repeat of what WPTF ran last night or not.

So will Stephanie Glance get the permanent job no matter what the results are the rest of the season? Any thoughts as to Glance’s abilities?

I’m sorry, I know they were in many cases speaking from the heart, but I couldn’t help thinking watching all these prominant coaches in womens hoops giving heartfelt tributes, “wonder if you ever used Yow’s condition to sway a prominant recruit your way.” Recruiting certainly went down the tubes the last two or three years, and I think we all know why…

South Hills Mall has on their letterboard by the beltline “Coach Yow – Promoted to heaven”

That is so sweet. I think it’s important to recognize all of the support Kay Yow gave to breast cancer research. There’s even a 4Kay run.
