“…Michigan was really not very good. I think that’s maybe the case with Va Tech and probably West Virginia, too.”

Excuse me, but if 9-4 with a win over Florida in a BCS bowl is “not very good,” I’ll take not being very good most years.

Maybe we can get the AD from West Virginia, the one who scheduled ECU and couldn’t keep his football coach to come here to replace Lee Foul-up. I expect the Mountaineers big spenders will help buy him out AND find LF a job somewhere.

I mean, they weren’t very good. They started poorly and finished stronger, but at the time, they weren’t very good. They were ranked #5 and were nowhere near that good at that point, or at any point in the season, including after beating Florida in the bowl.

My point seems to have fallen on deaf ears. My point was, just because you beat a team that you THINK is great, doesn’t mean they really were great, nor does it mean YOUR team is really great for having beaten them.

When ECU beats a #8 ranked team in the 9th week of the season, then I will concede they beat a pretty great team. At this point, there’s a good chance W. Va is not a pretty great team.

Similar topic, but different sport. New schedule changes for the basketball schedule.

Since the 2008-09 NC State men’s basketball schedule came out in late August, some game dates have changed and five Pack games have been picked up by TV networks the ACC announced on Wednesday.

Two home games have switched days after they were picked up by ESPNU. The Florida State home game will now be on January 13 with a 7:00 p.m. tip, and the Miami home contest has been moved to January 27 also at 7:00 p.m.

In addition to those two contests, ESPNU will also carry the Marquette game on December 22 at 7:00 p.m., and the final home game of the season on March 4 against Boston College at 7:00 p.m.

Fox Sports South and New England Sports Network will now broadcast the Pack’s road game at Davidson on December 6, with a tip time of 12:00 p.m.

The February 11 home contest versus Wake Forest has now been set for 7:00 p.m.

Considering how tough Tulane played Bama, ECU can show how good they are this week. And that’s with Tulane being uprooted by Gustav. I’m surprised at how thoroughly they trounced WVU, not that they beat a one horse team with no D to speak of. They are still ECU and they will still find a way to blow it. They lost to the worst State team in a decade, and convincingly, on their home field. If RW can get thru this Clemson game and we get Eugene back, I like our chances to keep it close.
