NCAAT Friday – Tell us more about the how great the Pac-10 is

* Friday’s Games

* The over-rated Pac-10 conference lost two teams on the first day of the NCAA Tournament when Arizona and USC lost to the Big East and the Big 12, respectfully. Poor Doug Gottlieb probably didn’t get any sleep last night in between his sobs.

* Duke barely escapes Belmont.

* I expect Miami to lose today and Clemson to have a dogfight on their hands with Villanova. But, if the ACC were to advance all four of its teams to the 2nd round then I sure hope the media picks up on the statement and publicly re-addresses the conference/VPI’s snub by the tournament selection committee.

* A lot of people are hot on Pitt…I would be if I hadn’t been hot on them most of the last five years only get burned every time I chose to advance them deep into my brackets.

* Dan Wetzel has a notebook of the day’s action posted on Yahoo Sports.

UCLA will sleep walk to the Final Four in this bracket.

I don’t have Ucla.. I figured after getting there twice in the last 2 years their luck would run out somehwere along the way this time. Unfortunately I had Uconn being the ones to take them out. Oh well.

Love the fact UConn went down…don’t really like that team.

It looks like Dell Curry has at least one more son. Sign his ass pronto.

Committed to Liberty in the Big South.

^Well then, maybe Mr. and Mrs. Curry could have a couple more? By that time, we might be in position to make real use of them.

Noah, I have UCLA winning it all. They may be in the Pac-10, but they are a great team. Hopefully, I shall live long enough to see another such a team wearing the Red and White.

    Go Toreros! … awesome!

I have UCLA winning it all, but I don’t care about my brackets – I’m hoping for as many upsets as possible 🙂 … I think it’s great that either San Diego or Western Kentucky will be in the Sweet 16 …

“So much evil. Duke, UNC, and UConn will probably all make the Final Four now.”

^That’s AWESOME. Good to know I’m not the only one to think like this

I have UCLA, Texas, Louisville, and Kansas in my final four. UCLA over Kansas in the finals.

Siena taking Vandy to task 26-13

  10. Wulfpack 03/21/2008 at 6:59 PM #

UNC scored more points (60) in one half than we did in five games.

It sure is nice to be able to avoid the Carolina game like the plague. Go Saints!

what the f*** , how the f*** did Oregon get in? geez. 8-8 in the PAC 10, wooh nelly.

  13. Wulfpack 03/21/2008 at 7:06 PM #

Perhaps a better question is how the SEC got six bids. Miserable tournament thus far.

I’ll say one thing – the people in Tampa are more than getting their money’s worth today. Let’s hope our Tigers don’t fall victim to the upset bug.

A tradition unlike any other – me not giving a shit about The Masters.

    Wooo hooo Siena!

good day for 13 seeds … glad those punks from vandy are going down

I broke many objects in my old apartment when we collapsed against vandy that year 🙁

  17. BoKnowsNCS71 03/21/2008 at 8:33 PM #

Looks like another Pac 10 goes down. Oregon. I think the NCAAT was probably wise to snub ASU and I’m thinking that those who have UCLA as national champs in their bracket are dreaming.

  18. packpowerfan 03/21/2008 at 8:33 PM #

Damn I wished I picked Siena! Oh well, hopefully it’ll be easier for Clemson to beat Siena than Vandy…if they get past Nova that is.

  19. wufpup76 03/21/2008 at 8:34 PM #

Looks like ANOTHER Pac10 team is going down, this time to an SEC school … and the SEC hasn’t exactly had a great year or tournament

Steve Lavin’s hair gel must be melting by now

    Go Tigers!

  20. Mike 03/21/2008 at 8:35 PM #

The SEC and Pac 10 are looking pretty bad. Personally I like the Davidson’s and other small schools. I always root for the underdogs and “stories”.

What I would really like, and I know it would never happen because of $$$ would be for each conference to send two teams, almost like the good old days when each conference only got one. I think one is harsh, but two would be fair. Give the Reg Season champ a bid and the tourney champ a bid. I think the smaller conferences have shown 2 teams can compete with the big dogs (MEAC and a few others are the exceptions). Might be fun.

It was sickening to see that Baby Blue crap playing on our home court!

  23. Rochester 03/21/2008 at 9:43 PM #

How good would Siena be if Jack McClinton hadn’t transfered to Miami? They might have beaten Vandy by 30.
