Checking In On Our Tigers

Wow, these guys are a lot of fun to cheer for. I haven’t seen a team play this hard all year. Currently on a 35-10 run. Everybody on the team is committed to defense, even if they aren’t particularly big, quick, or athletic. Maybe we should have adopted them sooner, and shaved a few points off our blood pressure.

On a side note, I can’t remember a less dramatic ACCT. The games have been consistently boring, and there’s at least one more beatdown (UNC over VT) still to come.

All the tournaments are kind of boring this year.

Unless you count the Georgia Dome being blown apart by wind during the SEC tournament as exciting haha!

They are very impressive, particularly when their press is wreaking havoc …

You are absolutey correct about this tournament so far … kinda blah … hope the semis might provide a little more drama w/ some teams in blue crying

Physical and aggressive. Should be a nightmare for Duke tomorrow.

Off topic, but if you’re still up – there was an unbelievable ending to the Minnesota – Indiana game … turn it to espnews or big ten network to see the highlights … WOW

I thought Minnesota had gotten hosed on some previous foul calls, but … miracle time!

The most interesting tournament may be the SEC now. Tonight’s late game was postponed. This must mean there is going to be a team that plays two games in a day or the tourney wont finish by selection time???

VT gave an inspired effort today against Miami as well. Goooo Hokies/Tigers! Wouldn’t it be amazing if they both knocked out the blues?

I’d rather see Clemson beat Dook then stomp the Heels…

Just when the season ends and you think nothing else bad can happen …

If we were going to put up another performance like we did in this year’s ACC/Big-10 Challenge we’re better off not being in it. That was the first official quitter game of the year. Of course, there were many more in the long, sordid train wreck of a season.

Back to the ACC, Seth Greenberg, while coaching and recruiting players to play BB at… VT, is my selection for COY and a very good BB coach in general.

I’d love to see them sneak up and at least give the hewels a scare today.

Yay, no competiton for us in the ACC/Big 10. Wouldn’t want to be the only ACC school to lose in the this thing anyway. Besides, it opens our schedule up for another game with the Blue Hose. Screw the Spartans or the Hoosiers, the Blue Hose, that’s more our level…

Should we change the heading attrative SFN heading again? Orange, purple and white would be nice.

I always liked Tubby Smith, so I’m happy to see him do well at Minnesota.

    BOY-87 was a fun year-went to that ACCT-had a blast -after winning the ACC, didn’t stop partying until-wait can’t remember-BOY 87 was a fun year.

  17. redfred2 03/16/2008 at 11:09 AM #

Yep, way back when, in 1987. Back when EVERYONE who was even remotely interested in college BB could still relate to our Two Time National Championship status, and we were considered a BB program that couldn’t ever be counted out.

As much as anything, I miss being not able to reach back and feel the respect that NCSU had EARNED in those days. You could just feel it automatically coming from the fans of every other program in the entire ACC.

Pretty sad and hard to imagine that it ever existed now.

  18. redfred2 03/16/2008 at 11:20 AM #

Oh yeah, for anyone who hates Duke more than unc right now…

There’s an undefeated season on the books, where NCSU could not compete in the offseason, and which was promptly followed by our first National Championship season in the following year. It was the snozzola, the head man of the powder blue, who was instrumental in reporting that terrible pick up BB game to the NCAA which nullified that season for a extremely talented, and threatening, NC State BB team.

So hate Duke if you will, but I’ll stick with ALWAYS hating unc myself.
