Ced Hickman Arrested

A sarcsatic thanks to Ced Hickman for taking the hard earned money of NC State supporters for his scholarship and returning the favor by embarassing the University…if he is guilty, of course.

Link to N&O’s article on Hickman’s arrest. It is a shame. This guy had a nice future in front of him…particularly if we ever find an offensive coordinator who figures out that both Toney Baker and Andre Brown seem to gain more yards on the few plays that we ever run out of the I-formation.

Police arrested football player Cedric Denard Hickman, 21, of 2717 Western Boulevard, Raleigh, and wrestler Christopher Allen Sutton, 19, of Wilmington on five counts of breaking and entering motor vehicles and five counts of larceny.

Hickman, a fullback from Winston-Salem, was being held in the Wake County jail this morning in lieu of $50,000 cash bond. Sutton was released under $51,500 bond.

Someone called 911 about 3:15 a.m. Monday and reported seeing two people looking into vehicles in the 1300 block of Seabrook Avenue, Cary Police Capt. Dave Wulff said. Police went to the area and found Hickman and Sutton, Wulff said. Sutton tried to flee from the officers, according to court records.

Police accused Hickman and Sutton of breaking into cars on Greenwood Circle, Seth Court and Riverton Place. They are charged with taking country and western compact discs, credit cards and other items of value.

Annabelle Myers, NCSU assistant athletics director for media relations, said both athletes had been suspended indefinitely. Myers said football coach Tom O’Brien and wrestling coach Carter Jordan would have no comment.

“And Noah — when Washburn was 20 and 30 — he still had the brain of a child in an immature adult.”

That’s right. People don’t change. You might get more experienced and that might lead to wiser decisions in the future. But if you’re a good guy today, you’ll be a good guy in the future. If you’re an a**hole, you’ll still be an a**hole 20 years from now.

The only thing that will change is that you might be better at getting away with being an a**hole.

Regardless of what happened, they are guilty of roaming around a neighborhood they have no business in at 3 AM. Nothing good comes from being where you don’t have any business at 3 AM.

Whether they stole, tried to steal, or were just in the wrong place at the wrong time does not matter. They deserve what they will get for making a very poor decision to be roaming around at 3 AM.

^^^ Yeah, exactly, Cary shuts down at 9 PM. There’s really no reason to be out at 3 AM unless you’re walking your dog.

“Wow, they got both kinds. County and Western.”

1999 ncsu scores huge points on the Blue Bros. reference. Job well done.

No QB’s and now no FB’s. Operation direct snap Wildcat formation is being drawn up in the Murphy Center war room as we speak.

We ought to invoke a wolfpack fraternal rule, called “The Order of the Wolfpack”. A secret code. A brother among brothers rule you do not break.

And that is, “If you embarass the university with breaking a Rule of the Order” and the Order of the Wolfpack will do bad things to you.

The positive side of the Order is that we take care of our own. A post grad wolfpacker athlete that needs help will get it.

God, what fun that would be. Secret meetings, our own clubhouse, nothing but true wolfpacker that yearn for their college days and Wolfpack Victories.

This is really sad for the state of our athletics department in general. One of the wrestlers on this year’s wrestling team I coached last year in high school and I’m pretty sure that he and the other wrestlers are embarrassed by Chris Sutton’s actions. Given Coach Jordan’s record over three years, this is not the attention you want in the paper for your team. I hope the punishment is swift and painful for both these guys, and losing their scholarships wouldn’t be too harsh.
