Remember?!

* Don’t “remember” it. Just never forget it.

* Remember just how bad the general feeling was in StateFansNation before this game last season? Here is a reminder Caulton Tudor has an insightful piece in today’s N&O about how this year’s game is actually about the game.

* Remember when the internet was just a jumbled mess of text? not anymore. Tudor and the N&O have a video preview of the game on their ACCNow blog. 850TheBuzz has an interview with Coach TOB on their blog that can be listened to here.

* Remember the important conversations that we had a couple of weeks ago about cheering at NC State games? This weekend would be an excellent time to keep it in mind and find ways to pass the word along in the stands.

* S6 reminds you how the Pack and Heels have fared against common opponents in this entry The statistical information will lead you to conclude that Saturday’s game will be about as close as everyone already expects. Of course, the Wolfpack have a much better chance of winning this game if the “second season” team continues to take the field as opposed to the “first season” team.

* Remember Sidney Lowe’s red blazer? Of course you do! Coach O’Brien wore a red blazer on his television show this weekend. Not only did I love the blazer, I loved the manner in which Coach O’Brien is both embracing and approaching the rivalry with Carolina. He just can’t help but put you at ease and breed comfort and confidence.

* Remember that we already have our UNC preview up on the site.

* And, don’t forget our thoughts bridging last week’s performances and this weeks game.

If TOB walks onto the field wearing a red blazer. . . . dang, I might just have to sit down and watch!

I don’t think he will do to the needs of athletic clothing on the sidelines when coaching, but if he did. Well, that would be awesome. The place is arlready going to be rocking, but if he came out in a red blazer, CF would explode!

So we’re gonna make a bowl?

Rivals thinks so. Follow this link for their bowl projections.

Saturday’s game against the Hill will be a “Red Out” or so the Technician is trying. I say this link via Rivals.com. Pass it along to all avid State Fans. I won’t be at the game (I’ll be at VT/FSU) but I’ll still be wearing my red shirt and red sweatshirt.

Let’s all erase our cookies and keep voting over and over so we can be the bonus pick…it’ll bring a lot of attention to the program…we need it.

We may lose this game, but damned if the attitude isn’t changing with the coaching staff about how to approach this game. It’s almost sad that O’Brien “get’s it”, so much more than Amato ever did. Being top dog around here is about beating the other NC schools first and foremost. The rest will take care of itself after you do that (IMO).

This should go along with the volleyball entry, so SFN, please feel free to move it. I did some research on our fall non-revenue teams, and the results, aren’t very good across the board…

I agree with the video preview that there will be multiple FG for both teams in this game. I truly feel that the team that punches in the last TD (assuming there wil be at least 1) will win.

The espn game day contest is getting closer! See above and vote!

ECU and UVa are both better teams than UNC…i didn’t think UNC was gonna hang close to WFU, thought they’d beat or lose close to UMD…i honestly think we should win by more than 10pts. The product that’s been on the field for the last 3 weeks for the wolfpack has been good. We have a damn good D. Walker is gone but he was gone for alot of the UM game so whoever filled in for him did well. Just look at the last 3 weeks of 2nd half football, its beautiful from a Def. standpoint.

I saw a similar Bowl prediction on ESPN, they are assuming we lose to WF. A failed assumption in my book. It’s interesting to see us mentioned, and even a snow day on Smurf Turf would be appealing after the 1-5 start.

If the boys take care of B.I. on the field and UVa chokes up this weekend and against VT, we could end up in the Champs Sports bowl. If BC loses out, and we win out, and the afforementioned UVA scenario takes place, we would end up in the Gator Bowl. Sure, if Ifs and Buts are candy and nuts, we’d all have a Merry Christmas.

I’m just glad not to have to get excited about the William & Mary game, B’Ball can wait until the Orlando tourney now.

I’d bet the Music City bowl will end up calling our name. Worst case bowl scenario IMO, would be if WVa slips up against Uconn and we end up playing them in Charlotte. They might gain 500 yards on the ground against us.

Nashville is a fun town – and a drive I can make easily.
Hey, we’ve taken the lead on the espn extra game thing – keep after it fellas, though when I deleted my cookies, I didn’t get to vote again. course, I probably didn’t do something correctly.

I truly want to even up this series, and take the lead, in my lifetime.

    TampaPack,

I live in Lakeland. Are you in the area?

I am glad to hear your optimism. I will have 8 folks in red at the game tomorrow.

I am not sure who will win. But, I tend to look at the line play thru my binocs for the first few series and don’t even watch the play.

My prediction rate of the winner based on line play is about 80%. So, I will know with about 5 minutes left in the first quater who is going to win with an accuracy of 4/5.

What a huge lift is the wolfpack pulls it out tomorrow. It will make a statement about TOB’s career at State like nothing else. It will also lead to another 1000+ season tickets sold next year.

Heck, even if we lose, the turnaround is still inspiring. But getting to 5-5 and elimating the heels all in the same day, that may be too much to ask for.

    So Ask away.
