That bites. just another reason to hate the twerps.

also, i was amazed that eugene didn’t get any acc POW honors. shoulda been co-back.

I really wish there was something that could be done with noon kickoffs. It is an absolutely horrible time for people who attend games especially on the weekend of Thanksgiving with so many people traveling out of the area. Oh well, I guess I will be at CF at 7 am again a week from Saturday.

Until we give ’em a reason to put us on primetime, we’re stuck with nooners. Maybe if we had played the first 6 games as well as we have played the last 4…

That is going to be one long, boring ride from Nags Head at early o’clock in the morning.

Crap. I’m going to be in FL. Does that mean I won’t be able to watch it unless I get slingbox?

  6. Lunatic Fringe 11/12/2007 at 8:25 PM #

You had to see this coming right? Florida-FSU, Clemson-SC, UGA-GT, & UVA-VT just in the ACC alone are better “national” games.

  7. rockwolf 11/12/2007 at 9:17 PM #

uva-vt got stuck with a noon start as well. i bet the uva fans are hoppin’ mad.

oddly enough, it doesn’t appear the unc-duke game will be televised. how can that be?

How then will we know who gets to keep the Victory Bell over the next year???

And at 6 pm Mr. O will be standing… wait… swaying… in front of our window heaving my wife’s UNC car magnet at our window.

Keep in mind O… we’re moving. Not sure the pretty hot Canadian blonde buying our condo appreciates the endearing subtleties of American college football rivalries.

I think we are getting used to noon. It’s our prime time

I used to hate noon games. Now I am not so sure…

*Crap. I’m going to be in FL. Does that mean I won’t be able to watch it unless I get slingbox?*

Yes, you rang? I’m in Orlando and Bright House cable carries the LF/Raycom games on channel 3 (FOX 35)

I like the Talkin’ with Tudor bit. Caulton’s got a good drawl an he knows what of he speaks. But could they invest in a wide angle lens? He and Giglio look uncomfortably close together, and the stress is palpable.

Interesting Depth Chart, Irving starts for Rumph and J.C. Neal starts at SS. We have Hickson coming back next year and we got a commit from a Georgia FB today as well, so I would expect Armstrong to be a solid second TE next year or third or fourth depending on M Carter and G Bryan. We seem to have a fair amount of LB/FB/TE sized players coming in or back next year.

methadone isn’t cutting it anymore, can we start a basketball thread!!

Let’s hijack this one – Pack bball is up to #22 in the USAToday/ESPN poll, without even playing.

  16. noah 11/13/2007 at 10:45 AM #

I don’t think Carter is going to be able to go next year. I think he’s definitely going to need a year of redshirting to complete the rehab on that knee.

  17. packbackr04 11/13/2007 at 11:06 AM #

is the bball game on tv tomorrow or do i have to listen on the radio?

  18. packbackr04 11/13/2007 at 11:07 AM #

also, in watching duke last night. that Taylor King kid can shoot and he isnt scared to launch it from anywhere on the court. Duke looks much improved from last year, but its hard to tell this early in the year.

i like all the rumours circulating about Butch…. the real issue there is recruiting.. how long will Butch keep giving these non-commital denials of his interest in the Arkansas job. the HS players have to hear the rumours, and the longer Butch lets this go on, the more it hurts his recruting.. o and getting thumped by the pack doesnt help in state recruiting either.. i just Know TOB is whispering this in the ears of in state recruits.

  20. TampaPack 11/13/2007 at 11:29 AM #

Swordfish – I am in Tampa, and Verizon also carries the games. I can never remember exactly which channel it is, but is on one of the more non-descript local ones, like WB, or whatever they are calling it now. I have to flip through the early channels to find the game. Its one of the low channel numbers on the system.

  21. Mr O 11/13/2007 at 11:30 AM #

My guess is Butch gets a new deal to silent all the rumors.

Gawolf: You aren’t moving far away, so showing up outside of your place after a big win over the Heels is still a posibility.

I hate even bringing this up with two games to go, but there is a possibility that we could be selected by a bowl prior to Boston College at this point. Their message board might actually have to be shut down after all the crap they have talked. Go Tigers this weekend!

  22. LRM 11/13/2007 at 12:00 PM #

I’m one of the few apparently that could care less what any BC fan thinks of TOB, just like I don’t care whether or not ASU thinks Herb F. Sendek is a good coach. And I don’t care who the coach at Carolina is next year.

However, the irony doesn’t escape me that a) If we finish 5-3 or 4-4 in the conference along with BC (possible on both accounts the way we’re both playing), then we’ll almost certainly get the better bowl; and b) if Chief gets hired away by ANYONE then there’s no possible way Carolina can ever claim to be anything more than a stepping-stone program.

  23. Trey 11/13/2007 at 12:20 PM #

Butch to Texas A&M as UNX loses their second chance at a football program to the state of Texas.

  24. JimValvano 11/13/2007 at 12:26 PM #

First of all…I think Butch is gone.

Second…it would be interesting to see B.C. lose the rest of their games and us win ours. That would put Coach O’Brien at the 8 win mark.

The final thing that I think needs to be brought to everyone’s attention is Dook. They were impressive last night. I know they were playing against a somewhat lesser opponent, but I played small college hoops, I’ve got a friend who is on an ACC coaching staff, and I am telling you all…WATCH OUT FOR THE DOOKIES. Damn that sucks, I was hoping they were on their way down. The components for a team that wins the ACC are there. It looks like they’ve got a real point guard in Nolan Smith, and Paulus is one helluva back-up. They’ve got an experienced leader in Demarcus Nelson. They’ve got a decent inside presence between Singler, Thomas, and Zoubek (though this is their obvious weakness) but most importantly they’ve got one thing they really missed last season…a scorer…a guy who is unafraid to take shots. Nolan Smith and Kyle Singler have gotten most of the preseason hype, but this Taylor King kid is gonna be the reason that the Dookies are back on top. He has absolutely no conscience. Then on top of his lack of a conscience he has a sweet shot on him. Dangerous.

With that said…I’d like to share my ACC predictions.

    1. Dook
    2. Tarholes (who will be their player to hit shots down the stretch of close games?)
    3. The Good Guys (if we can settle on a point guard…the sky is the limit)
    4. Maryland (because Clemson can’t make free throws)
    5. Clemson (because despite all the talent…Clemson can’t make free throws)
    6. Miami (Jack McClinton has a big man now in Anthony King)
    7. Virginia (They lack an inside presence, but its tough to bet against Singletary)
    8. Boston College (Tyrese Rice can take over the leadership role and the inside scoring is gonna come from Shamari Spears)
    9. Georgia Tech (They need to find a point guard and some chemistry before they will be able to make some noise around season end)
    10. Florida State (Did they give Leonard Hamilton his extension a little too early??? I believe 10th in the ACC is a pretty good indicator)
    11. Wake Forest (The loss of Prosser and the transfer of some top players in their rotation will hurt…watch out for the Deacs next year though)
    12. Virginia Tech (The loss of their top two players will really sting…what will make it hurt is the competition in the ACC which from top to bottom is by far the best conference in the country)

I would go as far as to say that Wake, Florida State, and Virginia Tech would finish in the middle of about any other conference in the country. Too bad the NCAA tournament committee will again refuse to see it that way and only allow between 5 and 7 conference teams into the field of 64.
