850 “The Buzz” Highlights Lack of Professionalism From BC’s AD

Click over to their blog for good analysis and comments (well, most are good). Quote from Jackhole DeFilippo:

“We’re having fun now,” he said. “We’ve won before, but we had no fun. This is still a game, it’s not life and death. The fun is back in Boston College football. Tom did a wonderful job here, but nobody was having fun. The fun is back at Boston College.”

We’ll see how much “fun” they have with unproven “Jags” in 2 or 3 years. Without Tom O’Brien’s players (let’s see how well he identifies “diamonds in the rough” that meet BC’s academic requirements, with no D-1 head coaching experience). Hell, even next year will be interesting, without the all-ACC (and 1st round NFL pick) QB – who single-handedly pulled the Eagles from the fire of sure losses at VT and Clemson. It wasn’t “Jags” playing “not to lose” that prevented a 4-4 ACC season – it was Matt Ryan making a play out of nothing.

Remember when Chuck Amato was “fun”? Time will tell, BC nation. Time will tell.

Did you just insult noah’s grammar on something he quoted…?

wow WolfDog… grow up. noah contributes more to this board then almost anyone.

Bo, the grass is greener with a better coach…it’s the finding a better coach that’s the hard part.

“It amazes me that teams GT with so many winning seasons fire their coach.”

    That’s what’s called — “Irony.”

yes. and when the next guy comes in and further erodes the program, it’s what Frank Solich calls Karma – biting you in the ass.

  5. noah 11/30/2007 at 6:45 PM #

What do you call it when the next guy is a success?

Didn’t we JUST go through all of this over and over and over? How can you fire O’Cain? He took you to bowl games and beat FSU and Syracuse! How can you fire Amato? He took you to the Gator Bowl and won 11 games!

(I’m deliberately leaving one person out of this to avoid setting off the seemingly-automatic tripwires that inevitably force half the board into a sh*t-eating contest)

I don’t think Georgia Tech ought to compare itself to Georgia. When you look at the academic requirements in Atlanta and the total absence of those requirements in Athens, it’s just an apples-and-oranges conversation.

But I also don’t think Georgia Tech ought to care what I think. If they believe they can do better than Gailey, so be it. I wouldn’t be surprised if Georgia Tech fired Hewitt in a couple of months.

MOC took us to 3 bowl games in, what 6 years? This is after 5 bowl games in 6 years. He’d taken us to 1 bowl game in the last 5 years. Yea, he beat FSU and Texas, but sooner or later, you have to actually sustain something or at least beat UNC.

I can understand GaTech getting po’d. He got much better results than MOC after inheriting a similar program to MOC. Much like that guy you didn’t name – he may have gotten a pass if he’d closed the deal when he was in a great position to do so… If they can get a guy like Paul Johnson or who can excite the fanbase – hey that’s great.

You’re right – sometimes you don’t gain a lot by these moves – but really, what do you lose?

Packpigskin. I agree Noah posts more than anyone. Crap usually comes in bunches. He also for some irrational reason attacks most new people that post of this site and most of his stuff is garbage. Those of us that are in the Wolfpack club, go to Wolfpack Club meetings, true Woldfack fans, the majority of wolfpack fans, and season ticket holders think little of so called internet “gossip” hounds like Noah. He only knows what he reads in the paper or gets on ESPN sitting at home in his underwear on the internet and talking about past NCSU history like he knows something when he was still in diapers and too young to witness any of it or have any true inside information. When you see people like him home posting on the internet during the game instead of ever being there you realize his only true support of NCSU is to try and attack those that he wish he could be. People like him bring down NCSU, they don’t add anything to it. So don’t tell me to grow up when Mr. “short changed” Noah attacked me first like he has done so many others. Especially considering you are defending a “nut” that went on this site and threatenend to burn down our own RBC Center. And as far as this site and its support of nuts like Noah, have you ever asked yourself if people that run sites like this are on the up and up and did things like go through the proper channels of using the NCSU logo? If you want to know the answer you can ask the coaches or email Lee Fowler at [email protected] and ask him, I already know the answer.

noah – I think you’re so completely off-base on this one… it’s surprising to hear something illogical come from you.

People are talking about how it looks to fire a coach coming off of a winning season. We have not done that… not with Amato, not with O’Cain. Not sure why the fact that Georgia Tech’s 7-5 record is a “winning record”, whereas neither O’Cain (6-6) nor Amato (3-9) did so, is a source of any debate whatsoever.

WolfDog- not everyone has the money to be a “real Wolfpack fan” by your def. Hell, I am a student and I DONT!!

If you really take the RBC center comment seriously, then you need help.

Noah adds a lot for us guys who havent been alive forever(are you really Zeus? or have you just found the fountain of youth?) and for the most part as decent analysis… but you cant always agree with everyone, right?

Noah also dosnt run this site… your fighting the wrong dog there, if there is any fight to be fought- but I dont blame anyone for not supporting Lee Fucking Fowler!!

    from the NCSU trademarking site.

    “WHO NEEDS TO BE LICENSED?
Anyone that uses the name or marks of NC State for a commercial purpose must be licensed. Manufacturers of products bearing NC State marks are required to pay an 8% royalty on the wholesale price of the product.

NC State trademark use in advertisements, motion pictures, etc. also requires licensing approval and a payment of a licensing fee. NC State trademark use in the traditional news media is not subject to licensing fees.”

I dont see how SFN fits in there anywhere… They arent MAKING money on this site- they are SPENDING it. They arent advertising, or using it in any motion picture… and what the hell is the “traditional new media” these days anyways?!?!?!

BC really looked to be having a great time at the end of the game today. LOL.

Why can’t Jags win the big one? Another WTF loss?
