Johnny Thomas’ Athleticism

There have been so many little blurbs in the media regarding high school basketball recruits over the last few weeks that we could have focused the entire attention of this blog on just recruiting nuggets. I ran across the following this weekend in the Charlotte Observer and just couldn’t pass on it. (Link)

In four years, after he’s done playing at N.C. State, Greensboro Day’s Johnny Thomas — who was the best thing about pregame warm-ups Saturday — should definitely be invited to the NCAA Final Four dunk contest. He would’ve won this year in Atlanta. Easy.

Thomas just high jumped 6-foot-10 in a prep track meet last week and his basketball coach, Freddie Johnson, said the 6-foot-6 Thomas doesn’t even really know what he’s doing. He’s an athletic freak.

All that said, can’t figure out why Thomas played, like, eight of 32 minutes Saturday.

We refer you to our entry on the day that Johnny committed to NC State.

Hey Cedar, how do you feel about gun control? That seems to get people around here less upset than talking about Herb. How about the Death Penalty? Any one of those may put you in a better light. Just something to think about.

C’mon cedar, that’s funny stuff. Anyway Cedar, you’re intelligent enough to know none of us are smart enough to grasp what you’re trying to tell us without you having to continually drum it into our heads. I mean it’s obvious, we watched all it with our own eyes, for ten straight years, just like you, and it still didn’t sink into our thick craniums. PLEASE, oh please, oh please, oh please, keep trying, and “Don’t ever give up”, on us.

    BTK, watch it now.

WHAT?!? I can’t TRY to be funny tooooooo??????

  6. redfred2 04/19/2007 at 1:36 PM #

NO, that market is already cornered. I’m the best around here. I’d say I’m as good at being funny, as Cedar is at getting his point across about…

    You boys yuck it up.
When the Great one starts his yearly pilgrimage to the NCAA promised land you will be green with envy.

And better Piggly Wiggly than Turner and Hooch.

As for gun control. I say give them all to the great one. He will only let peope shoot form long range anyway.

    CGWulf, now that was funny.

  9. redfred2 04/19/2007 at 1:48 PM #

Cedar, I’ve just thought about something. I keep on coming on here, over and over again, trying to be funny with the same old crap that never worked to begin with. And you, well…

We’re just two peas in a pod, you and I.

You know what else Cedar, these people are never going to understand my humor, just like they will never understand what a great basketball coach is when they see one. You go on if you want to, you’re a stronger man than I, if you do. As for me, I’ve had it.

    ^ Well played, sir.

Redfred…we do think you’re funny, it’s just no a laugh out loud sort of thing. We’re with ya though!

westwolf, you just confirmed it. Thanks alot. ALL of those posts up there were meant to be funny. Even the last one. I mean, I was yucking it up after I typed them. Anyway, did you really think I would quit? Hell no!, there’s no way. I’m going to type, and keep typing, until the cows come home.

    sad

  14. redfred2 04/19/2007 at 6:51 PM #

Ok then Cedar…I’ll keep typing until Herb comes back.

^Awe, now turn that frown upside down. Maybe the Great One will include Mebane on his new book signing tour. The working title is…

I cannot beleive you boys are still typing away at a thread that is so far down the list Herb would not let his plays shoot from this distance.

He knows the value of the three ball just like everyone knows the value of the redfred joke.

It fits you like a glove or maybe a block. Or possibly a head.

    Teh brilliance is bewildering.

Glove, thanks! I think you have a good *handle* on it.

It’s truly an honor to even be mentioned in the same breath as a vissionary who is that far ahead of his time. So far in fact, that most mere mortals can’t even begin to grasp the scope and ramifications of his teachings. His mentoring and coaching, just like my humor, is only comprehensable by a very select few. Maybe even just him, and myself, but that’s the only way we would have it. I mean, it’s all so far out there, and coming at you from way, way down town.
