Fox Sports – NC State Ranked 25th for 2007-08 Season

Here’s some nice press for Lowe and company:

25. NC State
Sidney Lowe’s team loses senior point guard Engin Atsur, but look for Iowa State transfer Farnold Degand to step in and provide help running the team. Degand will have plenty of weapons as the Wolfpack return their other four starters — Brandon Costner, Gavin Grant, Ben McCauley and Courtney Fells — and welcome a pair of talented frosh — J.J. Hickson and Tracy Smith.

  4. RedTerror29 04/05/2007 at 2:37 PM #

Has Michael Beasley signed a LOI? My understanding was that he just gave a verbal. So he may follow Huggins, stay at K-State, or reopen his recruitment. Am I wrong?

  5. packbackr04 04/05/2007 at 2:39 PM #

as a matter of fact, i am thinking about vacationing there this fall. i hear its quite the resort destination.

  6. lush 04/05/2007 at 2:40 PM #

  7. packbackr04 04/05/2007 at 2:43 PM #

if fowler were AD he would just release him. i mean, he commited to the coach and the system, not the school right?

I will tell everyone here that you can rest easy that the ball is in motion to get to the bottom of what happened last night, and I think it’s safe to say that Coach Harris will be okay. Please stay behind Coach Harris and try to avoid what is going on over at PP. Misinformation abounds over there…. which is why I’ve long since stopped frequenting the site.

I’m not really concerned with the exact details of what happened and yes support Coach Harris, what worries me is the negative press that is already out there, even if he is cleared of charges there is now the “oh yeah wasn’t he the one that…” factor that will play in. Its unfortunate but true. As far as the actual charges we’ve all sped, if you say you haven’t I say you are a liar and the resisting arrest charge may even be the cop in a bad mood and perceived something that wasn’t or coach may have been belligerent noone knows but Coach Harris and the arresting officer.

PP is kind of like the drudge report – a lot of garbage, but still a good source for info…I guess, you could call it what BobLee calls it – the biker bar.

Skywalker – you have a good point. Even if Coach Harris didn’t do one thing wrong, it will be used against us. Hopefully Sid has sat down everyone – players, coaches, managers, etc and reminded them that right now everyone needs to be extra careful. I’ll never forget Dick Sheridan sitting w/ Naz in a press conference saying that he would be suspended. He advised that Naz told him he was innocent, and he believed Naz was innocent, but that he couldn’t even afford to place himself in this position.

a lot of good info @ PP.

Lemme guess, the cop is a walmart UNC fan?

I can’t find anything on PP?? I agree, let’s not jump to conclusions, etc. Let’s back the coach, but I feel Skywalker might be right in that this will be used against us in the media and with recruiting, etc. Hopefully, we’re both wrong, and he’ll be cleared and then Micheal Beasley will come recommit here if Tracy Smith doesn’t qualify — instead of following Thuggins (is that true about WVU???).

tncsu^^ yup he calibarned the hell out of em

  20. TNCSU 04/05/2007 at 4:16 PM #

You could go ahead and chalk up the Final Four with Beasley and JJ. :)He’s got a SWEET shot — actually reminds me of a slightly “smoother” more athletic BC.

I didn’t know it had made the national news. Hopefully, the Thuggins and Donovan stories will overshadow it, and it will die down.

  22. TomA 04/05/2007 at 4:22 PM #

I can agreee that this isn’t exactly what you want to see considering the situation with Coach Lowe’s son right now but in this fast story media this will have a short shelf life. Keep in mind that the fastest way that this is ignored by recruits is if the team is as good as it can be next season. Kids want to go where they are on TV, play in a major conference, and have a place on a good team. Lord knows that before long another sports scandal will erupt somewhere else and this will barely be a memory.

Harris has now filed charges against the cop per WRAL.
