    Here’s some idiocy: “Granted, the Wolfpack (19-15) still needs to win four more games in the National Invitation Tournament just to be referred to as the nation’s 66th-best team.”

    That is seriously flawed logic. Everyone knows that many of the top 65 teams do not make it into the NCAA. this guy is saying that If NCSU wins the NIT and Eastern KY loses in the first round of the NCAA, then still EKY is 65 and NCSU is 66.

    Well, flawed as it may be the “66th best” argument can be (weakly) made. Personally I hate it when people chose to argue the weakest position to defend, but what can you do?

    What I prefer is to think State is 4 wins from being one of two post-season qualifiers to end the year with a winning streak.

    I printed out Matt Lawell’s article and used it to wipe my backside after what I thought was a darn nice BM this afternoon. Funny thing is, taking all things into consideration and after checking the ol’ sh*tlog, it turned out to be only my 66th best-ever BM…coincidence?

    I got this response from Lawell: “Believe me, my tongue was planted firmly in my cheek. I’ve paid attention to, and covered, college basketball long enough to know more than a few good teams are relegated each season to the NIT”

    I have to say it was a decent response. He’s clear… for now. lol
