She is Going to the Super Bowl

Since we don’t have any NFL football today, we thought that we would link this diversion for you. Unreal. (Link to Deadspin story) Soon, the only people at most sports events will be business owners and hot girls with stripper-like features.

To make some connection to NC State you can click on this link to see all of our entries focsued on Alums of the University. You can scroll through there for some NFL-related entries that you may have missed over the last few months.

Nice pub for another alum, from the 1/28 San Francisco Chronicle:

Eight of the 11 players in uniform for Golden State got into the game in the first half, indicative of the deeper bench Nelson has at his disposal. He got small contributions from Josh Powell, Mickael Pietrus and Matt Barnes off the bench.

Nelson, in fact, went out of his way to praise Powell, who was considered not much more than a throw-in player in the Indiana trade. But Saturday night the 6-foot-9 forward had 13 points and seven rebounds in 28 minutes.

“Josh Powell looks like a pretty darn good player,” the coach said. “Certainly I can use him. To his credit, he knows all the plays and where he’s supposed to be. We need another big body. I think he’s ready to play. I sure enjoy having him.”

Josh always seemed to me to have a lot of potential but needed some more development time in the ACC. If he had stayed longer at State I think he would have gotten drafted a lot higher and his lot in life would have been better off. I hope he’s going to be able show his skills with this new team.

Unfortunatley BO- there is no evidence of ANY player who developed as a player under He who shall not be named. I am afraid if Josh would have stayed, it would not have helped his situation

    I forgot. My bad.

The whole ‘selling oneself as a superbowl date’ issue is an uncomfortable balance between entrepreneurial and shameless.

i do wish Josh the best. He was a good player and i hope he, Jules, and Ced get to prove it on the next level.

Not to get off of the topic, but has anybody heard a thing about Matt Simms verbally commiting to either NCSU or Louisville?

  11. FullMoonRising 01/29/2007 at 6:00 PM #

Another NCSU website that is very proud of the pack is reporting that he is going to Lousville.

On the other hand, I think that we are all a little jealous that we can’t auction ourselves off as a date on ebay and get free superbowl tix. Maybe women really are smarter.

simms to the Cards. It’s allright, we need to see some OL sitting on either side of TOB next time. Looking forward to the emergence of either Burke or Beck to either step up soon or be waiting in the wings to take over when Evans/Stone have moved on. A good looking senior QB to be (’08) out of Matthews Butler High could be the next QB recruit of the future. Ironically enough he has Louisville and and us as his two choices so far, just like Simms.

Not this year, but maybe next, I’m going to put an ad on myspace, with a picture of just me, wearing a speedo and asking for a date/tickets to the final four. If the makers of Axe Body Spray don’t pick up the total tab then I’ll slap them with the biggest sex discrimination imaginable.

Not that the sex part is that big or anything, I guess I’d be suing on principle mainly.

Fred — my body or your body in a speedo on myspace would not get any tickets. For me maybe something for beached whales. The nice thing is that we ignored the girl on this post and talked about what was interesting.

    Agreed Bo….agreed.

Many things were covered in this one that was enjoyable.

Powell gettting some minutes…I noticed that the other morning after reviewing my fantasy basketball stats. Good to see the guy finally get some court time.

Simms to the cards. Well, at least we get to drop the bomb on them next September. Hopefully we give him the same “holy moly” feeling that we gave TOB last year. I’m still banking on Burke to bring it anyway.

Chicks that can go to the SB based on the package I guess deserve it. You’ve got to get what you want out of life somehow….if you’ve got the goods to get to the big game…..you must use it by any means necessary!

Uh, my post was supposed to be funny, guess not.

Fred — It was. Just playing.
