11/10: UNC @ State (3:00 Update – schedules officially released)

UPDATE: Full schedules for every ACC team can be found here. PackLaddie was spot on, as usual.

Dates from NC State’s 2007 football schedule have been trickling out and we highlighted them last week in this entry.

The ACCNow is reporting that Butch Davis and Tom O’Brien will face-off in Carter-Finley for the first time on November 10th. (Link)

Additionally, the Boston Globe is reporting that it is expected NC State will travel to ‘new rival’ Boston College on September 8th for State’s conference opener.

Although BC’s football schedule has not been set, the Eagles are expected to open with back-to-back home games against Atlantic Division rivals Wake Forest Sept. 1 and North Carolina State Sept. 8, marking the return of former coach Tom O’Brien

If this holds true, then the following is what we currently have pieced together for State’s 2007 football schedule. The ACC is expected to release the entire schedule before the end of the week.

Sep 1: Central Florida
Sep 8: @ Boston College
Sep 15: Wofford
Sep 27 or 29: Louisville
Oct 20: @ East Carolina, 4:30pm, CST-TV
Nov 10: UNC-CH

Additionally, our community provided the following supplement to some potential dates:

9/22 Clemson
10/6 @FSU
10/13 Open Date
10/27 UVa
11/3 @Miami
11/17 @Wake
11/24 Maryland

I just saw the ACC schedule release. Wow! No Duke again. We open on the road in the ACC. at hostile/ECU in the middle of the season. at FSU and at Miami the same year. last game vs Maryland which under Fridge plays much better as season goes on, everyone knows better to catch Maryland early in the year. Corrigan and his UNX cronies did us no favors. We better come to play this year, exciting and challenging schedule. Go Pack!

    We get Duke in 08 & 09 I believe.

ACC has released the entire schedule:

It’s also on http://www.gopack.com, but there are errors on it! Can’t they get anything right over there lately?

    Gary Hahn says:
“Check that, it requires a right parenthesis to create a smiley, not just the number 8.”

Our home schedule lays out kind of weird: 4 home games in 5 weeks (less than 5 if the Louisville game is indeed on a Thursday). Then a month without a home game, followed by 3 home games in a month.

I’ll be putting about 5000 miles on my car in September (driving to and from Florida)!

With NC State & UNC-CH playing @ ECU, it has to be their greatest home schedule ever…I wonder if they’ll sell out of season tickets?

*Not many hotels, they require multiple night stays, and there is no reason to stay multiple nights in Tallahassee(at least that I know of). Probably will skip it again this year and instead go to Boston and Miami.*

As I have FSU friends down here in FLA, I’ve been to Doak 3 or 4 times to watch different games and the atmosphere is terrific. Home fans are pretty cool unless you are a Gator or Hurricane fan, tailgating is ok, and the stadium is loud and exciting come game time. Not quite as loud as the swamp but still a great atmosphere. Miami may be easier to get to but they only rock the orange bowl for 1 1/2 games: FSU and sometimes VT. Mr. O If you are into atmosphere at a ball game in a college town, FSU is a much better destination than Miami.

From the article Matt was “flanked by two blondes”

So this is what CTC and JB never caught on to.

I wonder if the ACC lost some Thursday games…Aside from VaTech’s 2 appearances, they seem few and far between this year.

Tally is a great place to watch a football game. I’d put the fans slightly ahead of Clempson’s, but behind VaTech. For a truly football-centric road trip, it’s behind only Clemson and tied w/ VaTech.

primacy… good find on that article.. god, if we could land Simms, it would be nice, very nice! too bad we got our asses kicked on the court or Matt might have commited right then and there.

Okay. Perhaps my earlier post wasn’t clear enough, or, perhaps you frat boys don’t see the significance. November 10 holds a special place in the heart of EVERY Marine, past, present, and future. Hell, even the admin poag that bails on a medical 2 weeks into Parris Island Recruit Training, feels a little kick in his step on November 10th. “What does this mean, Jamie?”, you ask. Well, I’ll tell you. TOB will be playing the most hated rival of his new constituency, on the birthday of the United States Marine Corps. As a Marine myself (there is no such thing as an ex-Marine) I really like our chances. If nothing else, maybe we can get a little “Halls of Montezuma” going in the pre-game.

Again, logistics of Tallahassee make it less attractive to me with two of the best cities on the East Coast as alternative trips.

Jamie – Do remind us when game week is upon us. SFN will gladly post a thread on that.

  17. Jamie 01/24/2007 at 8:42 PM #

Roger that SFN. Any chance I could provide some input on that post?

    ^absolutely.

[…] This year’s “official foootball schedule entry” was a little disjointed because we were working hard to piece together as much of the schedule as possible BEFORE it was released. Since NC State has announced the kickoff times and television situation for the Wolfpack’s first three games of the 2007 season, we thought this would be a good place to consolidate our “2007 Schedule Entry”.
