FYI…my wife and I went to the Kansas at Nebraska game this past weekend (as the Pack was off) and they are not the 20th ranked team in the nation. They should of been beaten by a Kansas team that started its backup QB. Even with the backup QB, they gained 560 yards on the Blackshirts defense.

As far as the stadium and atmosphere, Memorial Stadium is a wonderful place to watch a college football game. Great environment. For the most part, very knowledgeable fans. Saw Tom Osborne. Highly recommend going there if you ever get a chance.

I think who ever makes this poll needs to lay off the kool-aid.

    BC @ #22????

I’m almost suprised WF isnt in the top 20….

The top 22 look about right to me

Interesting. I also think BC is undeserving of a top-25 ranking. And VT fell 10 spots after a loss to a tough GT squad, they’re better than that. I also don’t think FSU deserves to be #18. And Oregon Oregon Oregon. We’ll see how they do against Cal and USC. Maybe they are that good, I don’t know.

BC shouldn’t be ranked at all!! If State had been ranked and lost to an unranked squad, then State would be unranked at the time of the next poll!! FSU is as much a fraud as VT!! We’ll see….as the ACC turns.

In reference to the KU vs Neb. game, what was with the call in the OT???
His foot was obviously planted in bound at the 2, he reached out, trying to put the ball over the pylon, and LET IT GO!! The ball then dropped IN THE END ZONE and rolled out of bounds. The ball was placed at the half yard line. Slap me if I’m wrong, but since the ball was dropped in the end zone, should not the call have either been a TD or a touchback?? Remember now, his foot came down IN BOUNDS! During the replay, you can clearly see that the Nebraska player lets go of the ball while he is still in the field of play, therefore…FUMBLE!

I am with you on the poll that Clemson looks like the class of the ACC right now, with GT a notch below. There is no-one on State’s schedule that scares me more than that game @ Clemson. I fear we will be in for a pounding there. Every other game, imho I see as very winnable, especially since FSU and GT both come to Raleigh.

As for VT, FSU, and BC (and possibly Miami), they all could be anywhere between 20-40, depending on who’s doing the arguing.

This weekend I get to see LSU @ Florida with a UF alumnus in sideline west stand seats. Will be my first time at the swamp. Should be a fantastic game.

So from last week, where Wake MADE the SFN 25, did they fall back off because of a loss? A poorly played game? Massive injuries to starters? Peer pressure in this blog, etc? Hmm. When Clemson comes to Wake Saturday at noon, will we all breathe a sigh of relief that conference order is somewhat restored, or will we need to argue that the ACC has fallen further than anyone ever expected? Forget a playoff system… End of Season Grudge matches instead: Rutgers VS Wake… to the death!

We have multiple submissions, and we all try not to rank based on inertia. I still personally rank Wake 25th, but elevated GT and Texas Tech over them this week b/c of more impressive wins. I do not have BC in my Top 25. But you know, someone HAS to fill those last 3-5 slots. Plenty of not-so-deserving candidates.

Trust me, blog reader comments aren’t scaring us away from calling them as we see them…

^ I guess its like the real polls… people are probably voting on teams they know nothing about. they look at scores and the W/L column and base their poll from there.

oh, and lets not forget bias… cause there is a HUGE ACC bias on this poll… AND a huge bias against non BCS/tough scheduled teams…

oregon should be removed from the list based solely on their ugly a$$ uniforms.

And VT fell 10 spots after a loss to a tough GT squad, they’re better than that.

No they aren’t. As predicted by my VT friend and techsideline.com….VT’s OL is simply not that good.

Wake will stick close to Clemson for the first half of the game. Wake is by far the best coached team in the ACC and that should keep them in the game until the half. Clemson’s size and depth will probably allow them to pull away later in the game.
