PR & J-Co Right on Cue

We tried to set a nice vibe yesterday before our former Wolfpackers took the field for the NFL games and we couldn’t be more pleased with how Philip Rivers and Jerricho Cotchery responded.

PR had a super game leading the Chargers to their second consecutive route. Rivers was 25 of 35 for 235 yards and one touchdown (no interceptions).

J-Co, his old partner in crime caught 6 passes for over 120 yards and another touchdown. The following video highlights the spirit of never giving up that Cotchery has exhibited his entire career.

Awesome to see J-Co getting his chance to play. Is Herm that bad of an offensive coach? Looks like it.

Dont forget about Manny Lawson. 2 sacks this week. Go Pack!

Evans will start against Boston College
Coach Chuck Amato announced at the Monday Press Conference that sophomore Daniel Evans has been named the starting quarterback for NC State when they take the field Saturday against ACC foe Boston College.

SFN: Thanks for the heads up. We’ve opened a new entry on the topic

Manny made a big hit on a psss breakup as well. Cotchery is a great player, consistently overlooked because of has relative lack of 40 time and size. The Guy just makes plays, always has.

Evans, huh? I have my doubts. Maybe to light a fire under Stone. Maybe because Beck is gonna be the guy, or Burke just isn’t ready. I would still prefer the younger kid for the physical tools he (supposedly) has.

    How’s Marion doing?

    I love watching that…

Mario had 2 tackles. No assists. No sacks. He’s due to explode the more he gets used to the drill.

Boy, what a joy to watch Jerricho! That takes some of the bad taste out of my mouth.

And congrats to Amato for sitting Stone well before he sat Davis last year. My guess was that Amato and Trestman are desparately trying to get Burke ready enough by mid-season to throw him in and let him learn. Have no doubt that Burke’s poise and talent and knowledge of the offense will make him successful soon enough. Meanwhile, kudos to Evans for hanging in there and getting the start. No doubt all Wolfpack fans are rooting hard for him; and maybe he’ll be the man all this season. Can’t imagine how proud his dad is….

Amazing, amazing, amazing. Now hoping for some Mario Williams highlights to join the bunch soon.

    (rout guys, not route!)

Jerricho was the toughest wide receiver I’ve ever seen in an NCSU uniform. Not the fastest, not the best route runner, not the best hands but when you needed a catch in traffic he was awesome.

Again I say—-It’s really sad that Alvis Whitted is still stuck on that crappy Raiders team. Does he have a ring to make him feel better—I can’t remember. Anyway, all my friends said that PR would be exposed as a mediocre QB in the NFL, and I said they were nuts!! Looks like the kid was right after all. J-Co showed what he is capable of doing, and I hope and pray that K-Rob gets his shot. Maybe the Chargers could trade some dead weight to the sad, sad Packers and pick him up—imagine seeing those two hook up again!! WAY TO GO BOYS…REPRESENTING THE PACK WITH FIRE AND PRIDE!!!

WolfPup- that sounds great and all… but I dont expect the Chargers want to be trying a guy like Robinson our after their recent experience with a boozed up player!! sucks… dosnt it?!

well since the Panthers are choking- SAN DIEGO FOR THE SUPER BOWL!!!

  13. WolfPup35 09/18/2006 at 6:26 PM #

Well, PPF23, you make a good point, but for K-Rob’s sake, I hope someone gets him out of the drunkest state in the unoin, he’ll just end up in more trouble. Besides, if PR can hook up with someone who’s tendencies he already knows, then..you know what comes next.

    ooops…I meant union

    yep… dominance!

“I hope someone gets him out of the drunkest state in the unoin, he’ll just end up in more trouble.”

FYI If K-Rob wants to stay sober, he can swim in the stuff, If he doesn’t, he can find it in the Quaker Villages of Pennsylvania. This is not a circumstance driven issue.

Will Philip be successful in the NFL? So far he has been, but the season is 2 games old. What PR has is heart and a great mind. I personally believe he will be a great QB in the pros. Heck tried to get him for my fantasy team, got stuck with Peyton instead, oh well.

Jericho also has heart. His knock in college was no speed, but the guy always got it done. Why? There are things that cant be taught, either you have it or you dont. Both men have “it” and the it overcomes so many other obstacles.

    Check it out:

Rivers has not committed a turnover in his first two starts, nor has he been sacked (no other QB can make the latter claim). He has completed 33-of-46 passes (71.7 percent) for 343 yards with two TDs and no interceptions, and his passer rating of 107.4 ranks third in the league among quarterbacks who have played two games. Yesterday he completed passes to nine different receivers, something the Chargers hadn’t done since 2000.
