Greensboro has been named as a host site for the first and second round of the 2009 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The ACC Tournament in 2009 is scheduled to be played in Atlanta, GA. Link
Philadelphia, Miami and Minneapolis will hold first- and second-round games in 2009, along with Kansas City, Mo.; Portland, Ore.; Greensboro, N.C., and Spokane, Wash.
Mid-way through this past season (Link for “memories”) it looked as though NC State was going to have an opportunity to potentially play in the Greenboro pod in the NCAA Tournament. That hope faded away as the Wolfpackregressed to the mean during the team’s proverbial slide to the bubble.
I guess 2009 would be a decent time marker to hope that local Wolfpackers could potentially have the opportunity to support the Pack in such an environment in Greensboro.
