I think based on Fat Phil’s record of recruiting criminals, perhaps it is a blessing that Brent didn’t make it to State. Obviously I don’t know the young man, but Tennessee players can’t seem to stay out of jail.

How bad is the situation in Oxford? He has yet to step foot on the practice field and yet his placed alone on top of the depth chart.

I continue to believe that the Pack will be better off without Schaeffer. With very rare exception, good QB’s don’t come from the JUCO ranks. Despite starting the 1st game for UT two years ago, he was beaten out by Ainge and ended up completing less than 50% of his passes.

As for Ole Miss, talk about problems. They were 3-8 last year with 2 senior QB’s. Those three wins were a close game against Memphis without its starting QB, a close win over SEC doormat Kentucky, and a IAA win. Odgeron is an idiot. What kind of message does it send to his team and to Schaeffer by naming this kid the starter 6 months before he attends a practice? At some point, “Coach O” also said he’s going to make Schaeffer a pocket passer. I can’t believe this guy is a head coach.

I guess Erik Kramer was that “rare exception” then.
Not saying Schaeffer was the one but heck, when you don’t have a QB…….
