Poor Boston College. They really thought that they had a chance last night.
I didn’t watch the whole game with significant intensity. But, I did watch enough to know that Duke shot 37 free throws while Boston College shot 13 (on their home court).
What most people are talking about was the obvious missed call at the end of the game when Shelden Williams got NO ball on a block of a BC lay up…and got no foul called. (I did notice how Dookie V took the opportunity to jump on the no call so that he could justify in his mind that he is fair.)
Unfortunately, the only reason that this play is drawing attention was because of when it happened – at the end of game. As ACC fans, we all know that kind of officiating is par for the course throughout any game against Duke. But, I have to ask — why does it really matter WHEN the bad call happens? It is a shame that the bad call has to happen at the end of the game for it to draw attention. In a game of basketball – are 2 points somehow worth more in the 2nd half than the first minute of the game? Absolutely not.
I’m sure that BC Eagle will have some great comments today.
