Vick Dismissed

Quarterback Marcus Vick was dismissed from Virginia Tech’s football team Friday due to “a cumulative effect of legal infractions and unsportsmanlike play,” according to a release from Tech’s athletic department.

In addition to being dismissed from the team, Vick, a Newport News Warwick High graduate, has more legal trouble to deal with later this month. He will have to appear Jan. 17 in Hampton General District Court on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license, according to court records.

I suspect that time will show that Marcus needed Beamer and VT far more than they needed him.

Good. This is exactly what should have happened. What I want to know is why he wasn’t dismissed when he was first arrested for driving with a suspended license. The school President or Chancellor had told him his re-instatement was based on him not having any more incidents, legal or otherwise. If Beamer had anything to do with covering up the arrest so he could stay on the team through the Gator Bowl, HE should be dismissed from the team.

The proper ending to a “punk”. I would be surprised if he is taken in the first day of the draft, again that would be fitting.
