Acorrding to message board scuttlebutt Bobby Washington asked Coach Amato to move to safety, and has practiced with the defense the last two days.

    As I suspected, one of the stable horses got loose. Bobby Washington just wants to play and I’m glad that his fortitude came to the forefront. We can use Bobby Washington somewhere, and I’m really happy that he took the high road and asked to help the team in another capacity, considering his days as a running back at NC State are probably over.

    I for one feel bittersweet about Bobby’s move to safety. This is a kid who was one of the top RBs in high school, signed with Miami, then was dropped by Miami (for having questionable test scores), and now will probably never get considerable time at RB if any. Most importantly through all of this he has been a model citizen. I have not heard of one problem with the lack of playing time from him. This is proof that Bobby has had a strong upbringing from his family and has been taught the right way. Maybe next season he can get some reps at WR so he can get his hands on the ball some b/c he has shown some glimpses of big play ability. I really hope in the future that Bobby can enjoy himself on the football field no matter what position he plays.

    You have to feel for this kid. Everything short of injury that could go against him has. I too believe he will end up in a WR or slot position eventually. My hat is off to him as most kids in his predicament would throw in the towel and move on.

    He has a log jam in front of him. Hopefully he can get some time at this position. I like the attitude that he just wants to play.
