Matt Hayes of The Sporting News is easily one of my favorite sports writers in the country. Hayes’ perspective of college football is typically amongst the most insightful and knowledgeable in the country.
But, Hayes’ forecasting skills seem to leave a quite a bit to be desired. Last weekend, Hayes went a woeful 1-5 with his selections. Unfortunately, the one game that he nailed was the Wolfpack’s battle with VPI…and he almost got the score exactly right:
Virginia Tech 20, N.C. State 14.
That’s all the rest of the ACC needs — Tech QB Marcus Vick getting a jolt of confidence in a big road game right out the gate.
