Fox: 10 Coolest College Football Coaches
You know that it is an interesting list when Joe Paterno is the top coach.
The ACC doesn’t land a single ‘cool’ coach on the list.
Check that…Clemson’s next coach makes the cut.
Skip Holtz, East Carolina Coaching what was once referred to as a directional school, Holtz has made football relevant again in a state (it’s North Carolina, but you probably knew that) known for basketball. When you grow up with a name like Louis Leo Holtz Jr., you had better learn to fight hard and fast. Holtz, son of ESPN analyst Lou Holtz, not only can stand up for himself and fight, he does it with a lot less saliva.

Uhh, whatever.
It’s funny – if they had done this list 4 years ago, I’m sure a certain NC State coach would be on the list. So, that’s pretty much what this list is worth.
Skip’s 0-2 against O’Brien at NC State.
I don’t think Holtz gets offered the Clemson job.
I *do* think that Lane Kiffin’s going to be on the list.
Crazy rumor coming out of SC(which I put absolutely no credence in) is that Bill Cowher is buying at house on the lake in Pickens County and is looking for a job at Clemmons!
I suspect this is nothing but junk as I can’t imagine Cowher doing that.
Not a chance in heck Skip Holtz goes to Clemson. For a refresher- try a quick google search from his experience at S.Carolina. He hates that entire state and its moronic media. I see him getting a shot in the Big 10, Syracuse or taking ECU to a BCS conference (gotcha!- just kidding but Terry Holland can only dream). Skip is the real deal sending ECU to 3 straight bowls, pretty much with the same talent left him by the previous coach who was 1-10, 2-9. Holtz has assembled a top notch staff and has managed to keep them together which has been a huge boost to their success. They get an open week which gives them 2 weeks to rest their bones (after battling in consecutive weeks: VTech,WVA,Tulane,NCSU,Houston). I expect them to manhandle Virginia the following before getting back into their pass-happy CUSA schedule.
Further: Great to See Russell Wilson back in the lineup. Could be argued it was a great “precautionary” move by TOB to skip USF and be fresh for ACC opponent (and personal pal) Boston College. Should be a great one.
