Beck Leads State to 34-24 win over William and Mary

In the end, it was the third-string quarterback that provided the offensive spark to give N.C. State a 34-24 victory over William and Mary. (SFN note: we would like to give a shout out to the play of Nate Irving)

1 – Once Beck came in the game (about 3 series later than it should’ve been), everything started to click. He got the ball up and let your receivers make plays. That’s what you have to do when your receivers are better than their DB’s.

2 – Nate Irving is indeed a beast – he seems to be able to do whatever the hell he wants to do, turning opponents into ragdolls. When he went down before halftime, it looked awfully bad… and if he were actually out, I’d finally give in and admit that God indeed hates all things Wolfpack. (PS – He’s an ungodly physical specimen – really take a hard look at the guy sometime – it’s astounding.) Please, Nate – don’t bail on us after this year… give us something to be excited about next year.

3 – I appreciate Carter-Finley infinitely more than I did two weeks ago, before visiting the pit that is Williams-Brice stadium. We have an awfully nice setup for great gameday experiences.

For another six days, we should glory in the fact that we are a .500 squad.

I am disappointed the coaches say that no one is good, the QB, the line, the receivers. I think that really translates into the coaching and play calling is not very good.

Let’s face it, our offense is as predictable as pencil-dick hard on a wedding night. We let other teams dictate to us how we are going to play offense. W&M blitzes every down and shuts down the run and short stuff. So we let them do that shit for 1/2 of a ball game.

Good lord coaches, quit the SMALL BALL shit. Open it up,take a chance. You cannot be a decent team playing SMALL BALL. So why try it against a weak team.

I refuse to belive a good innovative offensive coach could move the chains with our receiving corps and Beck. Do we have to use the same plays that BC used 10 years ago.

The defenses know our plays better than us.
