’07 Media Guide Links

Stop the presses!!!

Someone in Raleigh has stepped-up and forced NC State’s Sports Information Department to (a) join the 21st century and (b) actually do some work!!!

Approximately three to four years after all of NCSU’s local peers began posting media guides to athletics websites, NC State has FINALLY joined the conventional practice. How refreshing!? (For a related entry from TWO YEARS ago please click here.)

You can click here to download various parts of NC State’s 2007 Football Media Guide and click here to reach a links to all portions of the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Media Guide.

Is that a schedule poster? That thing looks great. They didn’t give that away at the Spring game, did they?

I downloaded the Basketball Media Guide last season; didn’t realize it was an upgrade for our athletics program.

Holy cow, is this for real? Did I black out, miss football and basketball season and its April 1 already?

I am so amazed I’m almost at a loss for words. Love the back cover movie spoof: NC STATE UNIVERSITY presents and ATLANTIC COAST CONFERENCE production. a TOM O’BRIEN team starring ……..

Its nice to see the media guide mostly following Pat Forde (ESPN) insider column on media guide (which he now calls recruiting guide) rules of thumb.

    A sample:
*There are no official facility rankings, so just go ahead and declare yours the best.*

    And

*Pictures of your former players in NFL uniforms are a must.*

““Virginia Tech and then State offered, and I always wanted to go to State. But with the system the last coach had, I don’t think I would have fit. I thought it was a dead issue, until coach (Sidney) Lowe took over, and then I thought I could go there.””

But but but its the greatest system ever?

great article… THomas sounds like the kind of kid that is the glue on a team and a nice role player

Thomas will probably fit better into a more up-tempo, 1 on 1 system vs a cutting/passing system that requires players to make decisions on the fly about which way to attack the def. Looking forward to JT wearing the red & white.

Is Thomas considered a long-term project? Or a guy who can contribute early?

think Cam, should be a solid contributer off the bench in his jr/sr seasons. Possible starter by then depending on recruiting & his development.
