Castrated Turkeys Redux

We’ve mocked them, we’ve praised them, we’ve somehow managed to beat them. Now, it’s time to play them again. An NIT bid hangs in the balance for the Pack, a possible regular season title for VT. I will be on I-95 for most of the action, so keep the comments section lively.

Who get’s to be the mystery 27 minute man today. Brian Nieman or Trevor Fergueson. Safe bet is Nieman, but I’ll save that for senior day against WF and go with Fergie.

If we beat them, I will be as shocked as I was, well, the first time we beat them.

  3. REDforman 02/18/2007 at 4:14 PM #

I’ll be more shocked. Last time I was so wasted I thought that I’d dreamed it the next morning

    80% shooting so far. Outstanding..

  5. Luke12321 02/18/2007 at 4:48 PM #

    Fells came to play….that is a +

  6. Astral Rain 02/18/2007 at 4:58 PM #

Halftime- but remembering bad CSC-114/ MA-242 level flashbacks to the GT game…

  7. vtpackfan 02/18/2007 at 5:13 PM #

Offensive show with guady stats. Lets rebound and continue to get to loose balls and see what comes of it. 67% shooting is kinda crazy, but it is something this offense does from time to time so credit them with working on being effiecient.

As usual, I can’t watch up here in the District, but it looks phenomenal on gametracker!

  9. MrPlywood 02/18/2007 at 5:19 PM #

I have to “watch” on ESPN Gamecast too, but it “looks” really good right now. 21 point lead with 16 minutes to go. This would be a good way to exorcise those demons that cropped up at GT. NIce to see Engin be a real scoring factor…

    Go Pack!

For those that can’t see this game… this is the most efficient looking NC State offense in 15 years. Absoluely amazing. Everything is falling.

  12. 98st8 02/18/2007 at 5:33 PM #

we are up by 30 against a team that is in the top 3 in the league…WOW

  13. RabidWolf 02/18/2007 at 5:34 PM #

    30 POINT LEAD—OUTSTANDING!!!

    HOODATHUNKIT?

  14. RabidWolf 02/18/2007 at 5:41 PM #

I think Dowdell is a little bit pissed

  15. WolfPup35 02/18/2007 at 5:46 PM #

Like I have said many many times before……McCauley is a freaking MONSTER!!

Grant came to play, Fells came to play, Fuguson and Horner haven’t turned the ball over, and Costner is being Costner.
    Things are looking up!

We DO, however, still need to play defense and not get comfortable.

well the last 8 minutes have been somewhat frustrating. When we wnet up by 30 with like 10 minutes to go, we have gone really flat. We’ll win this one, but I want to go out with as much intensity at the end.

    BREAK OUT THE BROOMS!

Outstanding play, great great game…way to go ‘Pack!!

Order on the court..here come the Wolfpack….CALL ON THE SCRUBS!!

  19. MrPlywood 02/18/2007 at 6:01 PM #

Outstanding win, providing some much needed confidence and momentum going into the UNX game. I would love to see Costner rip the ball away from crybaby Tyler one more time 🙂

WE CAME WE SAW WE KICKED SOME ASS!!

Great job by everyone, lets go take out the tarholes!

  21. Luke12321 02/18/2007 at 6:09 PM #

Great Win! This really helps our chances for an NIT bid!

  22. PurplePeopleEaters 02/18/2007 at 6:11 PM #

What a game. For everyone that couldn’t see, you can probably assume how good of a game this was offensively. We didn’t play for pretty much the last 8 minutes and still won by 20 (not that i’m promoting not playing in the last 8 minutes).

We are going to miss atsur next year.
    Fells showed up to play.
McCauley is the most consistent player in the ACC.
Grant is the most inconsistent player in the ACC.
Costner is going to be an unbelievable player in the ACC if he sticks around. He has the perfect mix of an inside and outside game and even hit a 3 from a few feet outside of NBA range this game. That’s amazing for a big man. I’m looking forward to being able to switch him to the 3 spot next year to make room for Hickson at PF.

This is a huge victory going into the UNC game. I think we just put ourselves in the NIT with this win but we’ll definitely have to show up against UNC to further solidify that bid.

Who else is anxious to see this team next year? Atsur will be sorely missed but damn.. this team with some depth could be nasty.

Seth Greenburg looked like a guy who lost very badly at HORSE. Thats kinda what this game looked like, with the three point bombs and down the lane running kisses of the glass. Great to win against anyone this season, but even better against high caliber teams. We looked so wipped the last eight minutes, but hey 30 point cushions have their benefits.

  24. redfred2 02/18/2007 at 6:21 PM #

That was a nice little display of Bball.

Check out one of the paid wolfpack sights (unnamed) for an “astonding” story about the wolfpack’s win over VT. Sorry, I graduated from NCSU in Communications and that just bugs me!
