The Red & White From State!!!

If you tried to access StateFansNation between Tuesday morning and Wednesday evening then you probably realized that we exceeded our bandwidth allocation on the servers of the fine folks that have hosted our blog. On Monday alone we had almost 25,000 unique visitors most likely checking in on the “Chuck Amato situation” and the general traffic was more than our hosting friends could allocate to us.

Well, after a few hours of curiously scratching our heads about our next move, the FANTASTIC people at “The Red and White from State” graciously volunteered to help us by hosting our traffic for a few days. All we can say to RAWFS is thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

With all of this said…if you are a fan of this site and may have the ability to help us with permanent hosting support then please do not hesitate to email us at [email protected]

Thank you so much and please have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!!

packpigskinfan23- He has scored 25 ppg and 7 rebounds pg through two games this year…. But from what i heard is that he will be a top 100 pick for the 08 class.

Nice to have you back on line……

  5. redfred2 11/22/2006 at 10:55 PM #

I couldn’t read the premium article about CJ WIlliams, but the header was something like “This coaching staff is great…”

Along with Williams now, and the rest of this PACK of recruits so far, it is PUR-TEE un-f’n-believable to me!!!

And on the court, RIGHT NOW, we’ve had three wins with different players stepping up on different nights and we’re improvements happen as each game dictates.

    What more do we need?

Gonzaga! 80-73. Heh-Heh. In the words of the master, Denny Green, “If you wanna crown they ass, then crown they ass.”

Beat Chuck, lose to the Zags! Bittersweet for the Baby Blues!

  12. bTHEredterror 11/23/2006 at 1:38 AM #

And Wofford, who had us all sweatin’ bullets. They Beat Cincy on their home floor! I’m telling you guys, we might be able to NIT this year. I know it’s dangerous to compare games, but BC is STRUGGLING. Nobody elsa in the ACC but Maryland looks particularly good, and we got Michigan Monday. I can hardly wait.

SFN you were missed, I hope everyone has a great thanksgiving, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, however Kay Yow is once again struggling with a relapse of breast cancer. She will be taking a leave of absence while the team travels to Arizona and she faces stronger treatments. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

word from the wolfs mouth is Chuck is gone on Monday!! Discuss!!

  15. tractor57 11/23/2006 at 6:19 AM #

I don’t know anything but “reading the tea leaves” I would think the ECU game will be his last.
Chuck has done some significant things for the program (unfortunately on field coaching isn’t included).

And I thank RAWFS for hosting SFN!

Thankful for Sidney Lowe and his assistants. Nice job recruiting and doing everything else.

Here’s a little Julius Mays note from last night’s season opener:

Giants guard Julius Mays was largely responsible for Marion’s offensive proficiency. The North Carolina State recruit spent the first half getting his teammates involved and still finished with 16 points and a career-high 10 assists. He had only two points at halftime.

“I felt if I got the team involved first, then my points would come eventually,” Mays said. “I didn’t feel that I had to rush anything.”

Simply put, HUGE thanks to Runningwolves and the guys at RAWFS for getting this site back on line.

It’s important to remember that these sites don’t happen in a vacuum, folks.

Happy Thanksgiving to all, and hopefully NC State will rid itself of a couple of turkeys before too long.

I’m thankful our coaches (and hopefully our players) don’t read this *&^%

Mays sounds like someone who can really take off with Lowe and Towe supporting him. I can’t wait to see what this team looks like in just a few years. Happy Turkey day to each and all, and Go Pack! Gardner Webb on Fri.

DON’T FEED THE DOGS FROM UNDER THE TABLE THIS THANKSGIVING
If fleeing the scene of the feast is possible and you live near the RBC Center in Raleigh, NC then I suggest checking out Friday nights game against Gardner-Webb. Good tickets should be available due to the holidays, and now might be a great chance to see new head coach Sidney Lowe up close and personal to get the leg up in your knowledge of current ACC Basketball programs. The WolfPack are off to a nice 3-0 start and will be looking to likely improve on that against a younger Gardner-Webb squad (0-4) out of the Atlantic Conference.
Look for Bulldogs to come out swinging early in an effort to not fall into an early deficit. In three of their first four games their shooting has really off the mark to begin games. Againt Texas Tech in their home opener it was rebounding, especially on the offensive end that helped them pull close against Bob Knights Red Raiders. Freshman C Auryn MacMillan and Jr. Ricky McPhee do alot of the Bulldogs damage on the offensive end, with Jake Sims, Chris Gash, and Takayo Siddle providing the pivotal outside scoring.
The last outing against UNCG saw the Bulldogs start off hot, only to fall behind by half time and ultimately come up a bit short after a spirited comeback. Tough man-man defense is a trademark of this team. It keeps them competive in most games, but can also lead to many personal fouls. Opponets are getting to the charity stripe far to much this season (UNCG shot 26 for 32 from the line), so if Gardner-Webb can’t solve that problem against NC State, don’t expect outside sooting or offensive rebounding efforts to be enough to pull off the upset. Happy Holidays, and Go Pack!
