Both SDSU and St Johns got seeded way too high, a favor to Duke. Actually, their whole bracket is a favor now that Iowa St is gone.
Minor correction (I’m being that guy) – they did not play Notre Dame.
Ha! Saw the ND abbreviation and roughly the same colors and thought Notre Dame – instead it was North Dakota. Well, that makes a difference!
According to Stat God, they’re (UNI) one of the best defensive teams in the country. And they are a really solid team. Watch the Louisville-UNI game if you’re able, even though it could be all-time ugly.
Yeah, just looked at their schedule this season. Good wins vs Notre Dame, Wichita St, and Iowa. They definitely clamp down on scoring. Not feeling good about Louisville beating them, but I’m not sure UNI has seen that type of athleticism in a bit.
I watched a little of SDSU in their conference tourney and wasn’t impressed. Duke should dismantle them.
Sparty > Okie…but I know nothing about Northern Iowa, so hard to say. They might be ridiculously good.
Can’t help but think the committee knew what they were doing with this potential Sparty/UVA matchup. Like Izzo can’t beat UNx, Bennett struggles against Izzo. Not enough offense will always hurt UVA in this tourney. If they face a defensive minded team and can’t hit, it’ll be over every time.
Same here, but I’d like our chances if we get them – knowing we gotta go through ‘ville or Northern Iowa first. Clamp down on Trice and our bigs match up well with them.
Crazy to think the regular season ACC champ is the first ACC team out of the tourney. But Izzo doesn’t worry about pack-line defense since he’s seen it for years.
Cavs not shooting well enough to win this one. Tough day for them.
Edit: And yes, it’s so fun to watch these games knowing we’re already going through. Although “fun” is relative when you watch UVA play.
Yes, we won that game. No doubt about it. We were no shows in the 1st half, but played ball in the 2nd. Lots of effort. Bench play was HUGE.
Lee and KW provided the spark off the bench to get us back in this game. I never saw that coming. Would be interesting to see what our opposing teams’ scouting reports say about KW…”no telling..” probably.
