I agree with Ken Pomeroy, Pack by 11, but as I said a couple of weeks ago, this has the makings of a classic trap game, with Christmas right around the corner and between much larger games.
The obvious key here is perimeter defense, which means Barber, Lee and Turner will have to have great games without the basketball.
I’d love to know how a school already under probation for failure to properly monitor student athletes is getting away scot-free and is not itself being punished for LOIC.
That’s why PJ is not coming back — they are sacrificing him specifically to avoid the ban-hammer coming down on Saint Roy and his bright-faced young scholars who just happen to play basketball.
No matter what, this will not deter the Carolina fan’s holier-than-thou routines. That attitude should be given the death penalty, but if Carolina-fan does not have their “we’re better than you” attitude, they have nothing.
I read the WRAL account of the story and was hardly surprised. Capitol Broadcasting make a ton of money speaking out of both sides of their mouths where NC State is concerned. On one had they are the marketing arm of NC State sports but on the other hand they attack the school every single chance they get.
On top of that, they are the de facto mouthpiece for UNC athletics, to the point where they are an embarrassment to journalism. And finally, there is David Glenn, a man whose narcissism makes him unlistenable.
DRW- You are right, these “dumb ass ” kids do need to understand that twitter is public. But we dumb ass adults need to also understand that these kids are kids.

But when does a kid start having some adult expectations? Sheesh, we’ve been happy to pack kids up with an M-16 and send them over to Iraq or Afghanistan the past decade.
If TL is not happy with his role on the team, he can do something about it: improve his outside shooting and defense. Coach G is smart enough to put the better PG on the floor for the bulk of the minutes and any objective observer will tell you that right now that player for NC State is Cat Barber.

What I am convinced of is what I have seen: an inexperienced but talented group that can be very good especially as they get more experience.
Will they lose a few ‘WTF’ games this year? Undoubtedly. But will they surprise at times, and can they play over their heads and take down a more heralded team? Absolutely.
This is a work in progress, and the best sign is that they are hanging together and playing with intensity and purpose. A guy like Seth Davis, someone who rarely likes to say good things about NC State in the first place, won’t see that because he doesn’t watch them since they aren’t a top 25 team.
I say wait and see, and watch this group brew into a potent force. They’re getting better on defense and from that will come good things.

For those who were listening closely, that announcement was all but made before the first game this year when Coach Doeren said that this would be the season remembered as the one before Jacoby Brissett.
Mizzou is going to have to lose that three man front if they want to stay in this game until the end. That was a drive like you see against an FCS school that’s not very good to begin with.
I know Duke is the massive underdog but Jesse Palmer couldn’t have done a better job of talking them down today.
If he coached like he did at the end of his first year all of the time, we’d be fine. If he loses his team the way he did last year, he’s in trouble. Debbie won’t have Lee’s patience, not by a mile.
One thing that is going to be interesting is how the NC State fanbase handles Abu’s faith — he’s Muslim and he’s not casual about his beliefs. I’ve read multiple accounts that say he’s a better player than his rankings but is rated lower because he strictly observed Ramadan and fasted until sunset the entire month of the holiday this summer.
Me, I know many Muslims and can certainly discern between them and Islamists as easily as I can Christians and Eric Rudolph. Guys like him and the ones terrorists in the Middle East use religion as an excuse for their actions while what they do runs contrary to the mainstreams of their respective faiths.
Incredible. At some point they have to realize in Chapel Hill that their feeble attempts at PR are little more than shoveling sand into the rising tide.
I guess the refs don’t like to be called out and their biases exposed. Swofford really can’t tolerate this because if it gets any bigger, it promises to blow up into a natonal story and then it will be out of his control.
