Later on I’m gonna sit down and take a close look at the other teams in our regional, but I can already tell you not to sleep on Stony Brook. Those guys are tough pretty much every year and they made a LOT of NCAAT noise a couple years back, going thru regionals at Miami (as a 4 seed IIRC) and super regionals at LSU in the process of making the CWS.
Good point Wuf. Before talking TCU rematches, a baleful eye must be cast on those yankee ballplayers.

I had to look up “baleful” but now that I’m up to speed, I definitely agree about the yankees. I am going to try to work this new found word into my routine tomorrow.
I,too, had to look up baleful. I thought it was when the loft in the hay barn was at peak capacity….but am now cognizant that the CowDog has been reading too many BLS’s and is picking up new words.
Sounds like a plan to me….we need hitters with baleful bats…..

Ooops. Interesting that it took nearly a day for someone to say something. Glad I didn’t have spinach in my teeth.
Must have to do with some brain-pattern-typing quirk or another, because it wasn’t just in the headline. Three other places in the article I had done the same thing and never even noticed it despite multiple proofreads both before and after publishing.
I did it! I didn’t actually say “baleful”, but I did give a customer who has been giving me trouble a baleful stare as she walked away. Come to think of it, I gave her one last week too and didn’t even know what it was. And I’m pretty sure she is a yankee so it’s a perfect fit. If a baleful look can be given with glee in your heart, I did it today. Thanks CD!
The missing h in the title Forth Worth has really got me concerned. Seems to me, that is messing with mojo, and I would really like to see it changed back. If we could just win the Forth Worth regional, we could move on to the Collage Station Super Regional on our way to Omaha.

You wanna know something really sad? When I first read that, I thought YOU had typed “Obama”, and I thought HOW THE HELL DID I MISSPELL OBAMA??? I DON’T EVEN REMEMBER SAYING ANYTHING ABOUT OBAMA!!!
