Well guys I believed the hype till I just watched that game. I dont know if we are not as good as I thought or we just have to learn fast. We are State. Go Pack

Yeah, I had that one in the chamber just in case. Happy it didn’t go to waste.
That wasn’t the same team we saw in the scrimmage or the two exhibitions. Maybe Gott decided it was time to coach tonight?
The result was a W and it is miles better than the first game last year, but we looked terrible. I can only hope this is a learning experience and everyone recognizes we need to play with full effort every possession, every night.

I was stuck with play by play. Did our talent transcend coaching or did GS coaching almost transend our talent? Was there any defense on State’s part? Seemed like a lot of missed lay ups by GS and missed 3 pointers on our part. Maybe there is a replay some where.
Walked the ball up the court.
AA point guard passed to a big in the back court at the sign of token pressure. Then in the half court set, chucked up 3 pointers.
We shot 23 3 pointers and made about 4 of them.
We played man to man, and not well.
You get the idea…
Had 5 in double figures…. Henderson 23 or so. No real bench scoring.
Two of 5 had Double Doubles.
FT shooting sucked. Finally pulled it up to 70% or so.
7 TO in H1… only 2 in H2 so we had 2
We lost BOTH our O & D mid H2. At least we won….not a 17 loss.
We have to get our O chemistry back. It got hijacked…and we could not come up with Ransom.
The press handling was really poor. You are supposed to set up a triangle against the one guard front.
We need more bigs. We got killed on the boards with four guards and a Krispy Kreme addict on the floor.
DSJ is a freshman. I’ve seen a lot of ACC freshmen since 1975 and very few have the ability to dominate games, especially when they don’t have a great team around them. He was standing and pounding the ball like an AAU superstar looking to add to his highlight video way too much last night.
Henderson and Dorn started out like Mo Howard and Brad Davis and ended like Cliff Crawford and Javy Gonzalez.
There will be nights where we shoot other teams right out of the gym. Dorn, Henderson, and GFK will all get hot at once and we will score 136. Hopefully last night will be the rare night when they all shoot poorly at the same time.
I predicted 37-3 this season and I had this one as a win, so I’m happy about that.
