I miss the wide variety of face palm pictures, so I thought I’d add some.
anyway…enough of that digression…
I’ve been pretty happy with the development of our young bigs this year. The Vandwagon started out hot, which I think helped a lot, and both Freeman and Washington have contributed quality minutes. They are far from perfect, but I think in a year or two with more experience, strength, and body weight (except KH), we will be pretty happy with them.
We have not seen improvement from that position, nor from the 5 position in during this 4/5 win streak.
I attribute that to the Anya injury and the Vandy foul trouble/poor play leaving Freeman and Washington on the floor for too many minutes. We have played our best ball when Vandy plays well enough to eat up 27-30 minutes. That leaves 17ish minutes apiece for the three headed freshman monster. Freeman looks “wore out” to me. They all three play hard every minute, but Freeman just doesn’t look as fresh as he did earlier this season.
I need more Vandwagon! He played well in the 1st Wake game, with 10 & 7 and a block. But he didn’t score in the last 14 minutes…
This oz going to break soMe heaRts but I will be choosing my son’s team until after the half, do someone catch me up and throw in some good ref bashing for me.

Re: Washington – the best thing about his game this season has been his intangibles: tons of energy and spirit. The consummate glue guy … start adding production to that and it is a very potent combo.
Washington seems like the type of player / guy who will take huge strides next season … he’s still fun to watch this season.
Wake has already gotten away with two blatant obvious pushes in the back. One on Washington on the lay up and previously on an offensive rebound that we were in position for until getting shoved. Those no calls drive me nuts.
OK.. rick… that’s the first four… a tie…
gonna take us a few more minutes to get used to this pace….
after the last three or four games of slowball…

Probably 20-25, and that’s only for the backdoor cover potential AND only if you put a gun to my head and made me bet one way or the other.

Methinks we beat Wake pretty soundly though.
