NC State has landed a big time defensive tackle recruit with Quentez Johnson. He comes from Ellenwood, Georgia and attends Cedar Grove High School. Johnson, a bruiser checks in at 6’2″ and 330 pounds. Johnson turned the red light on during July 4th, a couple days after taking an unofficial visit to The Pack in late June. A former Miami (FL) commit, Johnson might be one of the most significant players in this class not only because of his ranking but the work he has put into the recruiting trail with other players. He was adamant on twitter that he would flip Darian Roseboro from Michigan alongside Emanuel McGirt from North Carolina as both of these players are now in Pack15. He is a stellar recruiter for The Wolfpack and look for that to continue in the future as he is trying to create a pipeline for The Pack with his high school as they are loaded with talent.
Johnson was a steal for The Pack and he displays a huge body for a defensive tackle. A strong inside defensive tackle he can bully offensive lineman and help stop the run. Look for him to make a impact for The Pack as NC State is trying to replace the losses of TY McGill plus Thomas Teal on the line. Johnson had one of the best offer list I’ve ever seen for a three star recruit. This past summer he ended his recruitment early picking The Wolfpack over Arizona State, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas State, Louisville, LSU, Memphis, Miami (FL), Michigan State, Mississippi State, Missouri, Oregon, Penn State, South Florida, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
