#Gameday: Pack in Black

It is GAMEDAY, but it doesn’t feel like it this afternoon. Every game in which I seem to have any real interest is not actually scheduled until tonight — which, of course means that those games will generally overlap with where I will physically be present in Carter-Finley.

In addition to what hopes to be a fun day and night in and around Carter-Finley…it is also a HUGE night/weekend for NC State recruiting. Emmanuel McGirt and Nyheim Hines are expected to be in Raleigh along with 12 to 15 high schoolers from the class of 2015 and another 25+ potential targets from the 2016 class. The two supposedly want to play together and we were able to get McGirt through his visit to Athens, Georgia last weekend without committing. As you can see below, it looks like Hines had a pretty decent night last night…

Speaking of football recruiting…look who spent some time hanging out last night?

Heading into today, I REALLY liked the Vegas action of NC State minus 16/16.5 points. That is, I really liked until I saw the following:

I’m sorry…I think I still like the Pack to cover tonight!

Dave Doofus making a big #STATEMENT. He’ll probably blame this loss on the fans. P.O.S.

Fool me once, shame on you
Fool me 50 times, put another man in the box

Stubborn. Try something that has a chance of working.

As much as it looks that Doeren’s coaching is subpar, at least thus far, TOB left this mess. He got old and tired.

Pathetic. Whoever thought we were going to cover -16.5 is delusional. Count me in before the game started. I am such a homer for the Pack, I actually thought we would be motivated (based on last week) to make a statement tonight.

How old is Chuck Amato these days? He’s got another 5 year run in him?

Certainly he could dust off those red shoes.

Just looked it up, Chuck is 68. He’s old enough to be Doeren’s grandpa. I wish he’d bend him across his lap and put a belt to him.

Anybody who would seriously bring back either of the last two who left with dumpster fires a burnin’ (Chuckles or TOB) is certifiable. Whatever one may think of Doeren.

If it were up to me having a choice between the three Ole Doofus would be so far down the list he wouldn’t get a job coaching a pee wee team.

Yep, I figured as much Wulf. No worries!

It’s true that Doeren hasn’t shown us much yet. But I said I would wait to see how his third team looks before passing any judgment, and I stand by that.

We aren’t laying down for dead this year, at least.

It’s obvious Jordan Lynch got Junior coach Doofus this job. You could say Phil Rivers made Chuck look good but even after he left at least Chuck could coach up a defense.

    Northern Illinois did beat
Mighty Northwestern today. Remember when the Wildcat coach was so highly regarded? Ain’t no more.

Nah, this is Cowher’s job to lose.

    I kid. I kid.

I’ll pass judgement on him. No conference wins in his first year in pathetic ACC?

Nail biter with ODU and Georgia Southern in second year?

He clearly is not good at coaching em up and motivating. What kind of talent is he going to need to approach mediocre I wonder?

Given that one was out of coaching before begging for a favor from a family friend to be Akron DC, and the other has been an assistant on a dumpster fire staff (UVA, another “friend” hire), I would say the market has spoken.

And the guy we fired before those two sold insurance for awhile.

We suck next year, or aren’t affirmatively good in 2016…we will try again with somebody new. but we sure as damned hell would never want one of the past schmucks back.

I’m just grateful DY was proactive, or this would be the first rebuilding year (2013 would have sucked with TOB, but with no rebuilding done) instead of the second.
