Pack lands top recruit over the holiday

Georgia High School football star Quentez Johnson is a 6’3, 330 pound three-star rated defensive lineman that was pursued heavily by Miami, Tennessee, Oregon and other top programs. Over the holiday he announced that Raleigh, North Carolina is going to be his home for the next four to five years.

Johnson commented that his relationship with defensive line coach Ryan Nielsen was a driving force in his commitment.

Coach Doeren’s 2015 recruiting class has generally been muddling along to this point, so there is some hope that Johnson’s commitment could serve as a catalyst to jump start some commitments.

BIG get for the Pack! Welcome Mr. Johnson!
Mr. Street, Mr. Johnson and Mr. Norman could be the makings of one of the nastier D-lines seen at NC State since Mario and Manny were bringing the heat.

“…there is some hope that Johnson’s commitment could serve as a catalyst to jump start some commitments.”

About this time yesterday afternoon, he tweeted “Time to recruit.” So that seems promising.

Another good get today. Riley Nicholson has committed to the Wolfpack and will enroll in January. He is rated as the #24 inside linebacker in the country according to ESPN.
