NC State OOC BBall schedule taking form

It’s interesting that we are in a little bit of a streak of basketball related news here in the middle of June.

Obviously, tonight is TJ Warren’s big night in the NBA Draft…so, we will all be watching that and hoping that TJ goes to a team that is a great fit (and also fun to support)!

Also worth noting today is the news that the Tennessee Volunteers have released their non-conference basketball schedule for the upcoming season at includes a December 17th visit to PNC Arena to play the Wolfpack. In addition to this match-up against the SEC, the Wolfpack will face the Big XII’s West Virginia Mountaineers in Madison Square Garden on Saturday, December 20th (click here) and travel to the B1G’s Purdue Boilermakers on Decmeber 2nd.

While dates have not yet been released, it seems pretty clear the Wolfpack will also be playing Larry Brown’s SMU, South Florida and at Missouri in the 2014-2015 season.

We will keep you updated on more as it becomes available.

One of the biggest improvements with this staff is in scheduling. They schedule to position us for the tournament. Now, you still have to win the games, but they’re not banking everything on a winning record in the ACC.

These types of schedules help the ACC as a whole. We need the other teams in the league to schedule well and then go take care of business.

Maybe the teams on our schedule won’t screw the pooch this year and leave us with a terrible RPI.

Barber vs Mudiay (SMU) @ point guard should be an interesting battle. I’m really looking forward to that one.

I think most fans will like this. I do. If we’re going to be fair to mediocre, then let’s at least play GOOD competition to help us get better, not to mention making the games worth the time and money.

As Va Wolf has so brilliantly illustrated, you MUST play good competition to receive an at large bid to the dance. Gott gets this.

It appears our strategy in football is to play as many sisters of the poor as the schedule will allow to achieve bowl status – which only counts wins – ANY wins.

    Quite the different system.

Must have been a condition of the trade deal.

I have obviously failed miserably. You have to BEAT good teams to make the NCAAT. πŸ™‚

TJ’s #14 pick showed how credible Jay Bilas’ “list” is. WAY TO GO.
Gott there with TJ and parents. Final shot of Gott hugging TJ’s mom and her crying was really touching.

Great night….last year we waited and waited and waited for Lo and Calvin to go…
