State – Carolina kickoff set

accfblogoThe ACC has announced the kick-off times for a full football schedule on November 2nd.

It’s not surprising that Carolina’s visit to Raleigh will occupy the 12:30pm slot on the ACC Network. It isn’t like anyone outside of the home base of the ACC Network would be interested in watching the two struggling programs for any other reason than because of the deep-seeded rivalry.

The BIG game that day will be Miami’s visit to Florida State that will again serve to showcase ACC Football on the national stage of ABC primetime at 8pm.

Virginia Tech at Boston College, ABC, ESPN or ESPN2*, Noon
North Carolina at NC State, ACC Network, 12:30 p.m.
Wake Forest at Syracuse, Regional Sports Networks, 12:30 p.m.
Clemson at Virginia, ABC or ESPN*, 3:30 p.m.
Pitt at Georgia Tech, ESPNU, 7 p.m.
Miami at Florida State, ABC, 8 p.m.

Ugh…ACC Network means a four hour game. Those guys have more commercials than any other coverage I can think of.

The good part of going to the game is not having to listen or watch their coverage.

    Go Boston College!

I don’t recall ever saying that, but somehow it seems appropriate today.

  3. wolffpride 10/25/2013 at 9:30 AM #

Can we call next Saturday “Zero Dark Saturday?” Wait no, because then we would have to lose with 00:16 left in the game.

  4. BJD95 10/25/2013 at 9:42 AM #

This is the season, for me. If we go 4-8 and win on Nov. 2…the season is a smashing success. I would take that over 6-6 with a loss to the Holes, extra practice be damned.

And yes, I am already looking past this weekend. Just stay healthy, guys.

  5. TheAliasTroll 10/25/2013 at 10:09 AM #

    I’m in complete agreement, BJD.

  6. LifeLongWolf 10/25/2013 at 10:48 AM #

    What BJD said.

  7. Wulfpack 10/25/2013 at 10:49 AM #

    Yep.

  8. bill.onthebeach 10/25/2013 at 11:22 AM #

I ain’t giving up on 6-6, a small bowl more for the guys than us fans and a win over UNx…. yet…

But the first step in that is the WIN OVER UNx !

  9. blpack 10/25/2013 at 11:31 AM #

I think we have to beat the cheats in order to get to 6-6. It is the season indeed.

The way this season is going, just win on November 2. The rest of the games? Who gives a damn?

    Just win on November 2.

  11. StateMan 10/25/2013 at 12:01 PM #

Add Nov 23 to the must-win list

Unx, Dook, BC, EZU and Maryland aren’t exactly world beaters. I see 3-3, with wins over Unx, dook and EZU to end season at 6-6.

One could (sadly) the argument each and every one of those teams is better than us. There are absolutely no guarantees. And that is fine with me in year one.

  13. Wufpacker 10/25/2013 at 2:55 PM #

    Pound them into the ground.

All else will take care of itself.

    Regarding the FSU game….

I’d just like to point out that not only are we 32 point dogs at this point….but the o/u is 58.

If you remember your HS algebra…well, never mind.

  15. Greywolf 10/25/2013 at 3:32 PM #

My heart agrees with BJD; my head says go to a bowl and get those extra practices and recruiting advantages.

Did you guys notice how many upsets there were last week? Just because any team on our schedule could beat us doesn’t mean they will.

  16. bill.onthebeach 10/25/2013 at 3:57 PM #

    ^Wuf…..

Who needs algebra for that ??

    58 – 32 = 26… right ?

    If Nole’s win 32 – 26 … is that not a “quality loss” and a “moral victory” ??

  17. Wufpacker 10/25/2013 at 4:02 PM #

    LMAO Bill.

    I believe it would be….

    NCSU = x
    FSU = 32 + x

    x = (58-32)/2

    Thus…

    FSU 55
    NCSU 13

The quality and/or moral victory would be getting out of Tallahassee with no further major injuries I think.

  18. bill.onthebeach 10/25/2013 at 4:20 PM #

    Ok Wuf… I see what you’re cooking there….

    This => NCSU = x
I think everybody agrees with that……

But I’m not a “betting” man… I thought the over/under was the number of total points scored by both teams and one could place his bet as either “over” the number ( if he thought it would be a high scoring game ) or “under” ( if he thought the opposite ).

In most cases … then…. one would be betting more on the weatherman or the injury reports…. than the teams.

The good side of playing at 12:30pm is for that both sides ….fewer brain cells will die.

  19. Wufpacker 10/25/2013 at 4:31 PM #

Yes, indeed that is what the O/U means.

But for both the O/U (58) AND the line (FSU -32) to come in “correct” as a “prediction” (which when talking about Vegas lines, both are very inappropriate terms to begin with, hence the quotes)…

    55-13

EDIT – Which, considering what they did to the tiggers in Death Valley, ain’t so bad really. 😀

  20. Mike 10/25/2013 at 5:04 PM #

Actually that would be 45-13 but not a big deal.

  21. Wufpacker 10/25/2013 at 5:15 PM #

    Hahahaha.

    Indeed it would Mike.

Wow…I guess that’s a statement on just how low my expectations are that I didn’t even notice my 10 point mistake.

    Yeeeesh.

  22. bill.onthebeach 10/25/2013 at 5:30 PM #

    HA!

… Did you guys forget… I’m the only guy on SFN who has “skins” from both NC STATE and fsu ???

    Obviously… I took more math at fsu…..
although I did sit in for two semesters of Calculus at 8:00am in Harralson Hall.

I hope nobody from UNx is reading this… or they’ll be asking me to do their crowd estimates at Kenan….

    Numbers don’t lie…. and cheaters don’t do statistics…

For lack of a better place:

Lorenzo and CJ were both cut today, and Richard Howell was dropped a few days ago. Ugh. Sucks for all of them.

  24. 13OT 10/25/2013 at 9:04 PM #

Sorry to hear that Howell was dropped. Don’t care one way or the other about Brown. Happy to hear Leslie may need a passport.

  25. tjfoose1 10/25/2013 at 11:36 PM #

    Game is at 3:30.
