Terrone Prescod commits! #RedLight

If I could take you back to this entry earlier in the week where we said:

4-star OL Terronne Prescodd will be back on campus with his mom for the second straight weekend and the coaches are highly anticipating his commitment. So much so, that he might not even wait until the weekend.

Well, the weekend is here – and so is a commitment from Prescod, NC State’s fifth from the state of Georgia in this recruiting class.

At 6’5″ and 320 pounds, Prescod is easily one of the Top 50 offensive guards in the country; he chose NC State over offers from Auburn, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Michigan State, Mississippi, Missouri, Virginia and others. You can click here to check out some of his video.

Prescod is the Wolfpack’s 21st recruiting commitment for the 2014 class that is currently ranked #16 in the country by Rivals.com.

As we look forward, Winston-Salem Parkland’s Deshaywn Middleton, ranked as 3-star defensive tackle, speaks of NC State as a heavy favorite but still lists West Virginia, Wake Forest and Duke as possibilities. The 6-foot-2, 295-pound Middleton is expected by many to commit to State when he is scheduled to make his announcement tomorrow (Monday). Another defensive name that is keeping Wolfpackers on the edge of their seats is 5-star defensive end Kentavious Street. Street made no secret that he loves NC State and that has kept everyone around the program on their toes for a commitment. Street originally thought he wanted to announce at the Army All-American game which would be great publicity for the program, but spots in the recruiting class are filling up fast.

I think charisma, charm and enthusiasm are the best attributes a coach can bring to recruiting. Any salesman for that matter.

Our collective staff seems to have those qualities in spades. We don’t have the 1 or 2 guys who are decent recruiters like the old regime. Everyone buys in. They recruit as a team. They push each other. There are standards. Night and day to TOB. Just what our fan base needs bc many of us had become apathetic.
