    Great Morning.

I am totally f-ing giddy. Very strange, this feeling.

Most important win over the Holes, in any sport, since the 1987 ACCT final.

Question? Do you want LSU to eliminate the Holes or do you want the chance to play them again???? I am of two minds on this. I want to see the Holes lose, but I think LSU is a powerful powerful team I would just as soon avoid and it would be nice to beat the Holes a second time. I am just saying.

*I want the cheaters out and embarrassed by LSU. I want them to come home with their heads down and dejected.
*From TV observations it appears that the number of State fans in Omaha is fairly large and quite vocal….good for the university.
*Having the 68 team there is motivational and this is great for the university as well.
*This is the most significant win over the tarheels in a very long time and it is quite overdue. I could not be more proud to be an alumnus.
*Another really important thing : THANK YOU Dr. Yow and Dr. Woodson. Your vision for NC State both academically and athletically has pushed NC State upward and we the proud alumni are grateful for your efforts!

Still giddy here too. Was so happy I couldn’t even sit still/concentrate long enough to write anything last night, thus the recap is only just now going up, LOL.

And I’m agreed with BJD. This win on this stage (not to mention the fact that we just totally effing kicked their arses) was huge.

    I’m so happy.

Well said, graywolf! Agreed on all of your points. This CWS is very special to me being NCSU ’68!

I’ve never liked the term “NCSUshit”. It implies that bad results come from some malevolent cosmic force beyond our control. When in fact, most of the issues at State over the last two decades have been the result of incompetent leadership of our university and its athletic dept.

In other words, we have met the enemy and he is us.

What a great day! Beat up on the Holes in a big way and sent them to the losers bracket. Now they are on the brink of elimination. We have to deal with the Bruins. Love the opportunity in front of us.

Amen to that. The primary cause of “NC State sh*#” was hiring people like Oblinger, Todd Turner, and Lee Fowler.

What a huge win! To stomp the tar out of the holes in front of everyone is the best part. But there’s more to come.

The whole time I was running this morning I had this shit eating grin on my face and was just on the edge of a chuckle in spite of temps in the high 70’s and 99% humidity. The universe is returning to a proper alignment. The LSU loss avoids for now the prospect of my Mom and Dad squaring off since she got her Masters at LSU.

My feelings exactly. We shoot ourselves in the foot way too often to blame “luck”.

re: NCStateshit – I wrote some thoughts in the Super Regional thread but I don’t the post ever made the page… Anyway, I’m all for retiring that phrase. I’ve never used it, and never liked it.

re: beating uNX again – State has done their part. Let LSU send the Holes home while State concentrates on the winners bracket.

“I’ve never liked the term “NCSUshit”.

Agree. As a long time fan, I understand the underlying frustration that it represents.

It’s should be one of those “inside” things – like something you call somebody in your tightest circle of friends and it’s ok, because it represents shared experiences, etc. But you only use it in private, and NOBODY from the outside should use it.

I disagree…. I think BC state usually means pulling defeat out of jaws of victory… no matter how it happens.

“I’ve never liked the term “NCSUshit”. It implies that bad results come from some malevolent cosmic force beyond our control.”

I’ve always thought it meant bad results caused by stupid things we do to ourselves, ie unforced errors. These bad results can be directly related, or indirectly related through a long line of rippling effects.

Things like Graham dropping a freakn handoff on a reverse against Va Tech (direct link), or hiring the likes of Monteith, Oblinger, and Easely (indirect link).

  17. Primewolf 06/17/2013 at 11:01 PM #

Show me statistically NCSUsh*$ and then I will believe in it. We have had some bad coaching and recruiting for a long time, relative to many peers in the conference.

Alumni and fans that use that term are reverse branding us and that ain’t good.

It was great watching the game yesterday. Almost like winning a double-header — Not only does the Pack get the big win over UNCheat, but we push them over in to the Loser’s Bracket too. I’m not quite sure which one of those to be happier about…
