Head Coach Elliott Avent

“Everyone thinks I’m such a people person and I’m such an extroverted person. But I’m a hermit. When I’m off the stage, off the baseball field, I don’t play golf — I don’t have hobbies. My hobby is watching something from the 60s. Whether it’s Gunsmoke or Bonanza — I want to be a cowboy and I’m too short so I love to watch all the old westerns. So that’s how I unwind. Either that or sit on a porch and stare at the ocean.”

So yeah, there’s that…

Also, Logan Ratledge and Jake Armstrong took some time out to have some whiffle ball fun in Omaha with some local kids.  Very cool video….

I suggest we all pray that we never get into a situation where Ratledge has to brought in to pitch…that is one fugly motion.  Sorry Logan 🙂

And yes, I actually did send this ecard (among others) to my awesome Pops for today….

This is going to be a great sports day! The highlight of course is going to be that classic pitchers’ duel this afternoon. I was at the DBAP for the 18 inning marathon and have still not gotten over it. I can only imagine how motivated the players are.

I will DVR the US Open and flip over between innings and after the game. Then I will finish the night by watching the Heat put the boots to Danny Green. Man, I have really hated watching Hansbrough and Green in these playoffs.

Thanks Wufpacker for the fabulous job you have done. Nobody in this area, paid or otherwise has done it better.

    Happy Father’s Day!
    Go Pack!
    Go Phil.
It is going to be a great day.

That video of the guys playing wiffle ball is awesome! It seems like we always have such amazing representatives in every sport! It’s one of my favorite things about NC State athletics 🙂 Happy Father’s Day to all the Papa Wolves out there!

Looks like a knuckler Ratledge was trying to deliver. I’ve had to use many different arm slots to be effective as a whiffle pitcher but never something that unorthodox. His at bats as a lefty bat looked impressive but I bet a low hook inside strike zone would handle him.

That video is awesome. What great reps of Wolfpack nation. I think we gained a few more Pack fans from Omaha.

The video and e-card make this perhaps our funniest random morning thread ever.

    Yo, yippie! Yippie, yo, yo.

Radar shows a storm system that will probably reach Omaha around 2 or 3. Surprise! (not)

Can anyone confirm if today’s game is gonna be on the radio?

  9. redisgood 06/16/2013 at 1:35 PM #

Weather.com shows zero probability of precipitation between 3:00 and 6:00. Looks like we’re good to go.

^ That’s what I’m looking at. But their radar says differently.

I have the business plan and location set (back in the trees off US64 between Apex and Pittsboro, need that quiet and tranquil atmosphere). Just waiting for Johnny Law to see the light!

So excited to see Carlos mow ’em down. Hopefully he won’t have to go more than 9 again.
