Merry Christmas. Roll Tide.

This Christmas video of a dad being surprised with tickets to BCS Championship game shows the kind of unadulterated happiness that makes sports such a wonderful component of our lives. I would give about anything to be able to make someone I love this happy. Merry Christmas!

Even has his “Bear” hat to wear at the game…Shoulda been a authentic houndstooth though!

Best moment of the video is when dad wonders out loud if the tickets were to good seats and the son said that they are in the stadium. Hello top row of Section 4XX.

    Alabaman Grandpa Joe.

That is awesome. Everyone should take a moment to watch this.

That was great to watch. Genuine elation and joy. This guys will be talking is friends’ and coworkers’ ears off up to that game. No better feeling than making someone that happy.

No much difference in him and the Walmart Tar Heel fans discussed on here. Having lived in Alabama for almost twenty years and having no respect for Norte Dane at all, I hope that ND beats the hell out of Alabama. Their fans base makes UNC look like normal fans.

If that is the gift in life it takes to make him happy his life is not much.

    ^ Damn Scrooge. LMAO.

It’s a nice story I guess. No longer having my father, I miss having moments with him. That said, my dad would have most likely scolded me for spending several thousand dollars on tickets to one college football game.

As for Bama fans, they are no worse than any of the other SEC fans, which is to say that are absolutely horrible and obnoxious. One of the reasons I don’t care for all of the talk of us moving to that conference.

I dk about the phrase “Roll Tide” being on here…. doesn’t set to well

The ‘Bama fan base makes UNC look like normal fans?

Not even the Taliban fan base would make UNC fans look normal.

  11. highstick 12/26/2012 at 7:50 PM #

If you go to their stadium and call yourself a War Eagle fan, you deserve what you get.

Actually I’ve never had a bad experience with a Bama fan at a game(even when they lost) or just trash talking. I can also say the same for Auburn.

Then you never experienced first hand the me first holier than thou “we don’t cheat” attitude of al fans. They are on a level above especially considering that even more of the state’s walmart base sides themselves then in nc with the tarheels. They actually believe the ncaa is out to get bama and the refs are against them in football. They seriously believe that.

  13. ancsu87 12/26/2012 at 7:57 PM #

I’ll agree to disagree. I find the whole bama fanbase alumni and fans to be one i hope to never have to listen to ever again. I was a bama fan until my third year living there.

I could say the same thing highstick about unc fans. I never had a bad experience in the football or bb stadiums. Outside of that in general conversations at work or etc is where the attitude arroves.

“No much difference in him and the Walmart Tar Heel fans discussed on here.”

The man was obviously elated. He might be a total jerk (though nothing in this video leads me to such a conclusion), but a Walmart fan he is not.

A Walmart fan would have asked when/where the game is or who they’re playing, not how good the seats are.

And that gift making him happy means his life is not much? Damn, I guess my elation if I ever get to watch the Pack play for another national championship (even on TV…I’m not picky) then will mean my life’s not much.

This is not an opportunity to bad mouth a fan base…IMO. Great vid. Loved it. A genuine Christmas moment, thanks for sharing it.

I would kill for the chance to fly my Dad to the Final Four to watch State play. That is why I love this video.

Same way I feel about Clempson then and you’re entitled..Once you get “run over” by one or two asshole fans, they taint the rest of them. I know that’s not the case about Clempson, but I detest every freakin’ one of them because of a handful. And then you start watching and you find out that most of them really are arses…most, mind you, cause there are a few who aren’t except on Saturdays….Frankly, I’ve seen more than a handful of State fans look that way also.

But, I cannot count the handfuls of Hole fans that exist in the world. The term “infinity’ comes to mind…

So do you feel the same about the “Boys from the Plains” or are they exempt?

Before moving to alabama i liked the tide much more than tigers. After getting to know the universities and the state media / power players i realized that bama was unc and auburn was ncstate. Still don’t like auburn athletics but i respect the university and pull for them when playing bama.
