NC State @ Michigan Open Entry

A MAJOR opportunity for NC State’s struggling men’s basketball team to find some redemption after struggling with focus, effort and fundamentals in the early part of the season.

Lorenzo Brown and CJ Leslie need to break through their funks if Mark Gottfried’s Wolfpack is to weather the tough atmosphere of Crisler Center in Ann Arbor.

Going ‘big’ tonight. TJ Warren starting on a wing instead of Rodney Purvis.

A Lorenzo Brown sighting!!! And, DEFENSE!!! A great start.

Gottfried goes zone. I love it. Hides our defensive weakness. Changes things up.

Turnovers. Wood shooting bricks. A step slow on defense. Could be a long night .

Ahhhhhhhh!!!!! This could end up being a 40-50 point blowout fairly easily.

They seem like they don’t really like each other, and couldn’t care less there is a basketball game being played.

Kudos to the hype machine, though.

Howell won’t let the blowout commence. I love him so.

We are putting it together. It might not be tonight. But we are starting to play like we can.

We clearly have talent. Passion, Chemistry, Patience…not so much.

The D is real bad. When we run our O sets or get out on a good break we look pretty good. Too bad we’re still trying to take the quick shot without working CJ and RH down low enough. Overall, better then it has been though!

Is it possible for us to be any worse on defense?

  11. redredred 11/27/2012 at 8:06 PM #

Dakich is a professional at what a bad shot is.

This team is WAY overrated. We can kiss the top 20 goodbye after tonight.

wood and lo are both defensive liabilities. $@#$ this team needs to work harder

Feels like 2011… I talked sooooo much trash pre-season… what was I thinking?

  15. tjfoose1 11/27/2012 at 8:32 PM #

Not overrated, just not yet ready. I expected a 16 point loss.

How does archer have enough time to coach d for both football and basketball.

Where’s the talent everyone keeps talking about?

When does Ted Valentine die in a fire?

  20. gotohe11carolina 11/27/2012 at 8:53 PM #

ted valentine is garbage, what a pathetic excuse for an official

  21. choppack1 11/27/2012 at 8:59 PM #

Agreed. I thought our guys handled his bs well.

Good to see team fight back. Hopefully, our guys have realized how to play d.

If this loss doesn’t light the fire, I don’t know what will. Michigan had a crap load of threes, and we had like 2, and we only lost to the 3rd ranked team by 7. If this doesn’t give them their mojo back, then this will be a very very disappointing season.

“When does Ted Valentine die in a fire?”

He may not die in a fire, but I believe he has fire and brimstone in his future.

The play in the last 10 minutes was promising. The real difference in this game was free throws. NCSU: 6-9. UM: 16-20. Probably could have tried to drive the lane a little more.

things are coming together. We ain’t there yet. We need to pound the ball inside until they back off us at the perimeter. If we had played the whole game like we played the last 15 mins we would have won. I know they shot lights out, but we were in it. The charge on Leslie was a make up call for the charge on Warren that was not called.
