Don’t look now, but that much maligned defense is second in the ACC in points per game allowed. To me, points allowed are the single most important stat for a defense. I think that’s even more impressive given how many turnovers we’ve had on offense (as those really put pressure on a defense).

If they’re still in second after Clemson, then we will have played a great game. Here’s to hoping.

I agree that it’s good that we are number 2 in point allowed, but, what has me perplexed is the fact that we are 10th/95th in “allowed passing yards”. If you had asked me preseason, I would have thought this would have been one of our strengths.

Other than a few defensive stats, we’re nowhere near top 25 nationally. Thank for the info. Being informed is good – even if it makes you feel bad.

Just like last year, State is very average on both sides of the ball. The biggest difference that I see between this year and last was that State was one of the national leaders in turnover margin….and ranks 93rd this year.

^ I don’t think I would call our D Average. They are playing great on 3rd and in the red zone. If the TO margin was in our favor it would be a better season fo sho.

The O on the other hand is a different story.

Interesting numbers….a bit much to comprehend. Read them twice. Without doing any fancy stuff like trying to come up with a weighted average on the rankngs, our “raw” or my perceived average would be about 8 or so in the ACC. There was only ONE top 25 stat and that was Amerson’s interceptions.

The attendance numbers surprised me, just from my casual obervations of the crowd. Those numbers were also surprising when you looked at the national rankings.

NOW…..the interesting thing is that IF attendace dropped by MORE than 2040 (Reg Season Tickets are $294), then TOB’s buyout…..hypothetically speaking of course, would then pass the Break Even basis. ($600,000 / $294).

2040 disgruntled ticket holders (or some combination of lost Season Ticket sales and individual game tickets) is NOT that far fetched.

Looking at the number (above) and my calculations, the remainder of the season will be TOUGH. If the economy does not improve, if the Team does not improve…..all IF’s but there are not a LOT of PRO’s to put on the list for TOB.

I am still on the fence, but cold hard facts and logic are beginning to sink in. Debbie Yow’s decision might not be as tough as I thought….who KNOWS….not I. I predicted that we would have a new president.

If I’m reading this correctly, we are 6-4 with the easiest schedule in the ACC. That’s pathetic.
